Broward College Nursing Program August 2016

Updated:   Published

Hello!

I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.

I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)

My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)

I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.

Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?

:nurse: WHICH CAMPUS WILL YOU BE ATTENDING?!

I'm committed lol

I'm on the fence with Central Campus & North Campus. I am considering Central Campus for their amazing Sim Lab, but I like North Campus because it's practically in my backyard. I am also prone to working alone, but I know this program is unlike any other I have done in the past and that it may be a definite advantage to find a group of goal-oriented nursing students to work with. Especially since, Nursing/Health in general is such a collaborative field.

Definitely agree! I am in-between both but leaning for Central for commute reasons as well. I definitely hope to find a few determined and goal-oriented students in the bunch that I can team up with.

if you get central, you got me!

I wouldn't, statistically if a lot of students flunk out the first semester. I'd go "ALL IN" this semester and perhaps take out a loan if you really can't pay the bills. It's the reality of, make an investment and pass... Or Risk Passing, Flunk Out and have to go the LPN-RN transition route. During the Information Session, we were all told that working while being in the program is not advised, so I'm going with "Not Working" even if that is financially stressful.

you are right, i may just not work. if i do it will only be weekends. have to weigh my options

Advice to you guys.If you have a job now try to work as much hours that you can(if available) until August when the program start SAVE as much as you can if it's possible try to find a second job a temporary one just for summer. When you start the program if you really have to work just like me do Saturdays and Sundays.

i really hope we find out tomorrow

Good morning everyone,

This is my last update until after decisions are sent out. Please keep the following things in mind:

** When the statuses are changed, please DO NOT call or email us asking what your status means. Emails will be sent out about 24 hours after the status updates are made.

** The Health Science Admissions Office is CLOSED tomorrow (June 15).

** If you are accepted, and received your pre-admissions date and time, DO NOT ask to switch to another session. These sessions are full to capacity. We also advise not to bring anyone with you to the meetings. Many times we do not have seating for them and they are asked to sit outside.

** If you are unable to attend the pre-admissions session, you will be asked to provide documentation as to why you cannot attend.

Good luck to everyone!

Health Science Admissions

I hope and pray tomorrow we'll find out !! I'm soooo excited
