Broward College Nursing Program August 2016

Updated:   Published

Hello!

I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.

I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)

My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)

I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.

Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?

Grades are posted!!!! í*½í¸€ Definitely turning my application in tomorrow morning!!!! Woo whoo!!!

Yay!! Ugh it feels awesome ! Just the waiting is gonna suck lol

Yay!! Me too I'm going to be there first thing in the morning

Good luck guys! Just a couple more weeks and we'll know for sure. My limited access says 'application in review' and my GPA points are there. Can't wait for all of our statuses to start changing! í ½í¸í ½í¸†

That's when the excitement and nervousness begin lol

Application is in!!! Now the wait begins :lol2:

Turnt my application in and paid the 20 !! Now just the waiting game í ½í¸

Good luck everyone! Just some advice as far as the physical I wish I had known once I got accepted:

If you need any of these vaccines because you did not show immunity when you got the titers:

MMR

Varicella

Hepatitis B

MMR - you will need 2 shots, given 28-30 days apart

Varicella- 2 shots, given 28-30 days apart

Hepatitis B- 3 shots, the 1st and 2nd are 28-30 days apart and the 3rd is 6 months from the 1st dose. (So if you got the first dose 5/16, your last dose is 6 months from that)

If you are accepted, and goto orientation. BE ON TIME. You WILL be turned away for showing up late. Get the day off no matter what. Get there 2 hours early if you have to. But don't blame anyone else if you don't get there at the specified time.

Secondly, show respect and actually pay attention. They hate repeating themselves because people are too busy chatting and not taking it seriously. If you worked that hard to get in, you are expected to show your professionalism. These are the people you will goto for help. Don't be disrespectful.

Nicole is amazing. Take advantage of her advice. And LISTEN to her during orientation. If you didn't get the information, you weren't paying attention or too scared to ask the question.

Egan St Michael from financial aid is also great. As far as financial aid; you can get the due date extended if it is taking a bit long to come through for your classes. Egan did that for several of us so our classes weren't dropped.

Books! Amazon. Buy used and rent. Evolve Elsevier resources are all FREE just login to your account. The perry fundamentals book we needed was $6.00 on amazon.

Hope to see some of you at North :)

Hello can anyone help me out my high school transcripts are still not showing I sent them electronically from my high school to broward on March 6 and they even confirmed that they were received on the 15th of May but no one can confirm if they were received I was also told that the deadline is now may 20. As oppose to May 15. Can anyone help to see who I can talk to about this issue thanks

15th of March I meant ***

You probably have to talk to an admission advisor for that. If anything you might have to go back to your high school to get the physical transcript if it been less than 5yrs or go to Florida department of education and request a physical transcript to turn in yourself. Also yea today when I turn my application in they said they might push the deadline back to may 20.

Do we have to pay the $20 fee right away or can we wait until after the deadline?

I paid mine right away but I think you have to pay it so they can process it
