Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Yup that's what I planned on doing! Did you start looking into any specific brands yet?

Not yet but I've heard good things about dansko and alegria. I was going to swing by either uniform city or uniform advantage to look at what they've got. Planning on buying a pair hopefully with some christmas money :)

I'm not going to bother looking at clogs cause I read somewhere that they don't allow you to wear those plus I really don't like the look never have. That's just my opinion though.....:cheeky:

When you do swing by and compare the two, please let me know! For the watches it can be any color right? I guess I would get white so it can match all over :wacky: lol we are too much!

Speaking of shoes, r u guys buying just regular non fancy white shoes or investing in a good pair that will last after school. I heard danskos and alegrias are good

You can't wear those until you're out of nursing school. All white sneakers is all that's allowed. :/

Thanks. Which semester should i take micro? Im scared of taking it with other hard classes. about the scholarships, i was going to ask the same thing.....i currently work at publix. Its alright but id rather find a job on the weekends as a CNA. still no luck though. Ive been looking online for scholarships. I had no idea you could find scholarships through financial aid???

You haven't taken micro yet? Wait till OB if it's too late to start before the program. I made that same mistake. Midterm was on a clinical day and had to jump through hoops to get permission to take it while in the program. Pharm is gonna be killer though, without micro.

I heard the most laid back class of the program is Trends. It's the last class before you graduate. So I'm assuming than? Or maybe when we get a break but since we're starting summer I'm not sure when we get one. And yes you sure can but I think those scholarships are based on financial need since it's through ur FAFSA? I have to get more info on that. And yes the points are given based on your gpa of the pre-req courses (Eng 1101, Anat 1 & 2 lecture plus lab) I don't know the exact details of how they calculate it but 16 is the highest points which would be a 4.0 gpa in all of those subjects. I heard there's websites for point calculations by googling it.

They won't let you continue to Ortho, let alone Trends if you don't have micro.
