Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!
You know how alot of people say when it's a lot of reading or info to just focus on the objectives? Is that true or it doesn't work?
It works when the instructor is teaching in a manner consistent with what was taught previously. It didn't work when I went to her asking why, if children with celiac disease can't have lactose and gluten, is the right answer : Feed him cornbread and rice pudding.? Certain instructors are very helpful though. Solis (OB) focused on objectives. She and St. Pierre (GIGU and ortho) are my favorites.
Ohh okay! Who is the best process 1 and 2 teacher? (My last question for the day lol)
Kantis is tough, but knowledgable.
Didn't like Smith. Disorganized.
Burroughs doesn't teach and fails you for stupid garbage.
So, the best? Kantis I guess. Lauer used to be one, not sure if she still is. She runs the nursing lab with Ms. Vanessa. So, Kantis or Lauer (Central campus)
@MariposaLPN Yes! thank you SO much for all of your advice! But can I ask one thing, what does it mean to retrack? && another question, what are the best watches to have? I've seen some nurses have the g shock but then some wear with the second hand.
&& yes when you guys start to look at shoes, put them on here so I know where to turn to. right now I have no idea what would be the best ones. and backpacks? anyone started looking at those? I've just been looking at watches, stethoscopes && id badges for stethoscope & uniform. lol etsy.com has the cutest ones! but i guess its better to be finding these things now rather then wait tip last minute and get whatever you see first.

Rule of thumb: Don't start buying cutesy things. Some cutesy supplies will be unable to be used in the program until you've finished processes and gigu. Get the basics. Watches from Walmart with a second hand work. They need to have a second hand. They will get wet and dirty. No use buying specific "cool" watches, at least for now.
Retracking is when you have to repeat a class after taking a remedial class and skills review class. It sets you back 5-6 months.
Any sneakers that are white. Nurse mates worked for me. No clogs or crocs.
Any backpack works.
Hope this helps :)
Yeah i bought a book to study for the HESI, are there many conversions? Thats the worst part for me as I never really learned how to convert....as in fahrenheit to celsius, or miles to meters...etc
No temperature conversions, but you will need to memorize a sheet of paper that has the conversion methods and rounding rules.
