Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Specializes in Telemetry, IMCU.
@Mariposa any advice on stethoscopes? Is it best to buy a good quality one or is it not as necessary?

I have the Littman that I bought in LPN school. They're better for auscultation than the generic brands from school. A bit pricey, $100, but worth it.

T.T ugh time to memorize them all i guess lol

Do you use quizlet? They have the conversions on there thats helps you to memorize it and it tests you. You can type in hesi math conversions

Be careful with posting things on quizlet. Someone thought it was smart to post test questions and answers and now there's no more test review for certain classes. Instructors use the internet as well and I guess the smart fools forgot that. *peeved* Try Brickman's site. There are questions for each semester there.

Yea I meant for just the hesi purpose but thanks for the warning :)

@Mariposa I know it depends on your own preference but as far as books do you prefer the ebook or the hard copy?

Hard copy. I prefer highlighting and creating side notes. :)

Hello guys I'm planning on applying for broward nursing collage for may 2015, but I was told it is difficult to pass the hesi2 exam, I'm begging anyone who can share their materials that they use to pass this exam would be a great help to me, please email me @ [email protected] I would really appericate it. Thank in advance!

Hi! Welcome. When are you taking it? Do u have any study material at all? The elsevier admission assessment study guide is good to help u out with math, reading, grammar and vocabulary. H&A not so much. U can try quizlet (online) just type in hesi quizlet. Also anatomy section has a lot of physiology. Questions about muscles, integumentarysystem, hormones, stuff like that. Math has a lot of conversions and fractions. Study a lot of those. All the English sections are pretty basic. Hope it helps.

I have not made an appointment yet, I will sure take your advice. Can any one tell me what is an acceptable overall GPA and science GPA that broward accepts.

Strive for the highest. What's your core (English, Sciences, math) gpa? That's what they look at. I had a 3.5 with just my core. A lot of 3.0s, very few 2.5s.

GPA minimum is 2.5 & HESI has to be minimum 75% on all sections. But like dridri23 said strive for highest. Make life easier
