Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

well, I know you didn't do it for nothing because chemistry IS required for graduation, I just don't know who to ask. The girl I talked to from health sciences didn't even know what chemistry class I was supposed to take!

thank you either way love! I appreciate the speedy reply :D

Lab is needed for the BSN,not for RN.

Thank you butterfly ;) Now I am just debating on whether or not I should take it.

Anyone here know how financial aid works at BC? I am attending FAU right now and they usually let students with financial aid wait until they get their money. I know BC requires you to pay BEFORE you can even go to class. I don't have money...what do I do? Suggestions? I also have bright futures scholarship, but that does not get sent out beforehand either...

Ummmm not to sure... I've never qualified for financial aid I've always had to pay for my classes I think one time I was told I could go to the Dean to see if anything can be done especially if you're having any type of hardship maybe that might be an option you can do until your financial aid kicks in. also did you already sign up to take chemistry in January? try to get as much out of the way as possible before starting the program will make your life easier

oh and as far as what chemistry class to take make an appointment with the health science advisor at Central Campus she'll be able to help you out but she only does it by appointment only and you have to email her to request an appointment

yes, I already signed up for the chemistry class, it was CHEM1032. A coworker of mine is also applying, he went to an advisor and thats what they told him. its for health sciences so that makes sense. i know I will get stuck with Micro in one of the semesters but I hope I will be ok, I am anticipating tears and allnighters but it is all worth it in the end. I have delayed way too much on this journey and I can't wait to start. I might end up speaking to someone in central since they seem to have more answers to lot of my questions. I have had many unpleasant things happen to me in North since I registered about a month ago. Anyways, let me know if you guys have any questions that you'd like me to ask since I will be down there on Monday. I definitely love central more than North, loving the atmosphere. I will try to swing by the financial aid office on Monday as well to clear up questions regarding that.

I've read in other threads that the schedule lightens up during the program so I'm sure you'll be able to take it sometime thenthere's a few people who have done that in the past and it seems to work out just make sure you do it at a time when you feel comfortable

I know what you mean about central I felt the same way when I went there for the first time is just a little bit too far for me to travel so I think I might end up going to south but who knows what will happen in May I may end up at Central I don't know I really don't mind which campus I go to as long as I can start the program in May.

Lightens up? You mean Trends? Nothing lightens up. It's hard going in and it's hard throughout. It's not impossible, but take micro beforehand if you can. I took micro during Peds, and algebra during OB. Passed OB, but had to retrack Peds. Not easy...

I live in Deerfield Beach so the closest one is North. Central is about 25 minutes away, and traffic was horrendous! I kept having to switch lanes....people were going nuts lol. I have never been to South. Ideally, I would love to be at North, but just like you I wouldn't mind having to drive...at least Central. Im not sure about South...I don't think my chevy could take it LOL

I just meant that semester where we don't have as many classes, though since we are starting in the summer idk if that apply to us.....though in other threads I've read that some classes of the program might be more difficult because u haven't taken micro so that's why I have always tried to tell people to try to take it prior if u can....also that way once you finish program you can breathe a sigh of relief and know u are completely done...that is until u have to take nclex :roflmao:
