Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

@dolfanjenny I'm here just been trying to focus on Micro mine is still in review I'm not looking at it anymore lol

Hey FutureRN0630 there u are! How did u get to pay before?? They wouldn't let me. Oh well whatever. I got it taken care of now so now.......we wait....:roflmao:

Are u doing both micro lecture and lab??? Lab midterm is brutal!!! But don't be discouraged if u don't do well on it. I got an F on both parts of midterm (yes it was a 2 part midterm) but got my grade back up and passed with a B. Good luck FutureRN0630!!!!

@dridri23 I think we'll start seeing a lot more people probably as early as January. The anticipation is going to drive them (& us) crazy. Lol

you can say that again! i'm already going crazy! trying to figure out if i should do the certifications now or just wait until i get accepted, if i should do them at school or at ceufast.com.

Don't do cert yet cause they are only good for a certain amount of time and they need to stay current for the whole time you are in program if not you will have to redo them (this is coming from health science advisor I spoke with in September) I actually have my OSHA and TB/HiV and a couple others from when I was in school and she told me I have to redo them.

As far as where to do them I'm in same predicament CEUfast is $30 but I want to make sure they accept all of them & I found all the codes to do them all online with BC from another thread all together $72. That's without CPR. Idk.... obviously CEUfast is the better route as far as price

If u want to start getting some things done ahead of time Tdap shot is good for 10 years. Also proof of your titers is going to be ok to do early. Don't do the physical yet though cause that needs to be done after we go to orientation. Also white comfy shoes, stethoscope, pen light......if I think of anything else will let u know ;)

Oh I forgot!!! CEUfast will actually be $25 cause if u input promo code BROWARD in all capital letters u get $5 off

Speaking of shoes, r u guys buying just regular non fancy white shoes or investing in a good pair that will last after school. I heard danskos and alegrias are good

oh okay, thanks for the advice. i guess ill just wait til march or when we find out. but yea i was thinking the same. ceufast is cheaper but then BC is a for sure thing. i think I'm just going to do it straight from BC. if I'm going to spend the money, might as well spend the extra money to make sure everything is accepted, rather then try to go the cheaper way and then get something denied and have to pay the price then.

omg! thats more exciting. i was already looking watches, I've seen so many with nurse symbols on the face. so cute! and for shoes, is the uniform requirement, just regular white sneakers or medical white shoes? and yes! I'm asking my family for a stethoscope for christmas. lol

Hey dridri23 I think you should invest in a good pair your gonna be on your feet a lot not to mention u can continue using them after your done with school (like at your new job in the hospital) :) I believe I've read that they need to be all white. Christmas is coming might as well start hitting the family up for some good quality nursing supplies for when u start classes. Ssoler has got the right idea! Lol

@Ssoler if your looking at watches make sure u get one that fits snug around your wrist don't get anything loose. I have a friend that works at the hospital who told me that. Reason being that if u ever need to use your CPR skills it won't get in your way. Just some advice. Happy shopping! :)
