Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!
Does anyone have info on scholarships for nursing program? I read on other post that this girl went to central and applied in person at financial aid for scholarship and got one right away. I plan on quitting my job once the term for may is going to start. There's no way I can work my full-time Mon to Fri 9-5 job. So I'm gonna be in need of funds. I plan on saving up money in the mean time and eliminating a few bills but I need to use money I save up to help me pay bills and for any emergencies and I don't want to touch my IRA unless I absolutely have to.
I heard about that too, that you have to fill out your fafsa and than you might be eligible for a scholarship. I also know of the hospital scholarships but thats not until our 2nd or 3rd semester. Of course theres the ones online but I dont feel like writing essays . I have a full time job and work from home part time job so I plan on saving whatever money from the work from home job. About the $20 I also paid it at cashiers office after turning in my application
Ok thanks. I'm gonna end up just going to the campus and paying the $20 in person. I've heard of peoples application status being held up cause they hadn't paid fee and I don't want that to happen to me. I might email Nicole and double check with her on application. I also heard of a website that offers scholarships where you don't need to do essays for most of them. Will let u know what I find out.
I actually have a nice stethoscope set my mom bought me years ago when I started in the medical field. I finally get to use it!! The doctors I work for are old fashioned and like to take BP themselves so I don't get to use it. I also have been reading older threads and I bought a few things to start getting portfolio together. This is exciting! have you gotten anything yet??
Ughh isn't it?!? What kind of stethoscope you have and what have you been getting ready for the portfolio? On last may's forum someone posted a reading list for North campus. Don't know if it's still the same though..
oh then you should definitely be on top of that because i had heard that they won't look at your app until the fee was paid for so just keep an eye on it.
i spoke to jackie vital at central regarding the memorial scholarship with BC and she said I have to wait until I get accepted in order to apply for the scholarship. the good thing about that scholarship is that once you graduate you have a 2 year commitment with the hospital, so that sounds good. but other then that one i have no idea.
I have to look at stethoscope I don't remember brand but it was one of those expensive ones they sell at uniform advantage in the mall. As far as chapters from book I'm reading the ones I saw posted in past threads they all seem to be the same. As far as portfolio I have a binder, folder with pockets (no prongs) page protectors ( I read somewhere u need those to separate certificates) made 3 sets of copies so far of my titers, flu shot, my degree audit (cause u need that printed out if you were exempted from core class) that's about it right now......

Yeah that was my plan but was told by cashiers office that if there is nothing reflected on my acct I have to wait. When I emailed Nicole she told me nothing shows up til I hand in application. I turned it in on Friday she wasn't there so I had to leave it in drop box. It's hard for me to make it to campus on time after work to go pay fee and they told me I can pay online but not until it shows up on my acct. Idk
