Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Hi,

Same thing happened to me as I was waiting for them to approve my waiver the spots filled up. I plan on going to north or central So i know jan is out for me. Im not sure about online its the first time Im hearing thats how it works. On your application status online what does it say for the term if it ends in 52 its for jan if its 53 they put it for may.

Hi Dridri23

I also wanted to go to North or Central because I live in palm beach county. At this point i'm willing to travel south is not that much further than central, move, whatever. I'm tired of waiting and applying maybe ill car pool or something. it says 52. How does the number make a difference? does yours say 52 or 53. Yeah with the online i guess you apply and if they don't fill it it does not run and then they possibly offer you a seat at whatever campus has a spot available or push your app to the next term. Thats what i was told when i spoke to someone this morning. So i am assuming it will change to 53 if thats the case. When did you apply? after or before i did if you don't mind me asking. My waiver was just updated this week. But even if it saids 52 i don't see how from now to monday they will offer me a seat at central. I honestly am a little confused and frustrated with all this. Every school is so different and requires different things. I tried to submit the waiver a while back but they told me to submit it with the application. That just delayed me and let the campuses fill up before it was ever done

if you ladies don't mind me asking I'm a little confused what is a waiver

also as far as online goes I heard they haven't even done it for the past two or three semesters due to lack of students wanting to do it online

with this type of program you should do it in person regardless nursing program is very demanding I don't think you can get the same type of education online when it comes to that

The same thing happened to me! I was told to submit the application with my waiver. Of course I dont mind lol I submitted my app on 10/20 which was already pushing it. My waiver was from HOSA so i thought it was gonna be a oh she has a waiver? Check. Nope. Come to find out my waiver had to be forwarded and approved by this lady name Josette, THEN forwarded to downtown campus for final approval. Long story short my waiver didnt get approved til yesterday ten days later. When did you turn in yours? Also it depends on which campus you turn it into. I turned mines in at North so since there was no more spots they just pushed me to may cycle. (53) I know other people applying for south thats still in Jan cycle (52) because they still have spots left. From what I was told central and north is completely full South is the only one thats has a few spots left.

If you took HOSA in highschool you get a waiver from doing the core because they do it in HOSA. When you graduate highschol they give you the waiver.

I thought of that too, you must have alot of discipline to do online I know I wouldnt have any motivation lol but everyone is different and learns in their own way!

oh ok thanks for clearing that up for a minute there I thought oh great something else I have to do that I didn't do I actually spoke to a health science advisor back in September and I was exempt from that because I've been in the medical field for 9 years as a medical assistant. Hope there's no problems. My transcripts and degree audit show that it's ok

I actually did all my pre-reqs except the labs online you would think it was easier but its really not you need to have a lot of discipline when it comes to studying. you get lazy about reading and studying the material because you don't have the teacher there pushing you to do the stuff

Oh yes I forgot that too! If you're in the medical field actively dealing with patients its waived also. If your transcripts and degree audit shows its okay you should be good

Hey Guys! I find that really annoying that they waited to waive the HCP0001 class for you guys. My HCP0001 classes finished on Oct. 20th and I turned in my application the next day which was Oct. 21st and the next day I got my admission e-mail. Also, I turned in my application at North. And they're not running the online program this semester because they don't have enough students. Someone at orientation wanted to do the online program but because they are not offering it he declined his spot. Hope this helps.
