Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Wow jboogs49! Thank you! Exactly the info I needed.

By the way, those who are going to North campus....I turned in all my paperwork today and they wanted it in a different format than at other campuses.

1. Have one binder (yes, the three ring binder, about 1.5 inches should be enough)

2. Have a plain folder

3. On the folder, on the LEFT side, insert your ORIGINAL medical history papers from the doctor/ physical form, and on the RIGHT side place COPIES of your certification, background check receipts (fingerprinting), drug screening, and online background check (confirmation page), exactly in the order with the copy of the certificates being the first ones you see. If you have a licensure, like CNA license, and the CPR copy, place those after the certificates, thats what I did.

4. On the binder, (hole punched and all), place your 1. COPY of medical history and physical examination form. 2. ORIGINAL certifications (mine were all copies as I printed them offline, and they said that was fine). 3. ORIGINAL background check receipt (fingerprinting) ((THIS WAS A COPY FOR ME, they gave me a sealed envelope, which i will explain later on that)). 4. ORIGINAL Drug screening form (I had to tape the original tiny piece of paper they gave me at Quest, some may have a full page, doesn't matter. just do what I did if you got that strip of paper, tape it to a larger paper and place it there.) 5. ORIGINAL online background check (confirmation page, again this was off from the website so any copy regarding this will be just that, the copy.). #1 on this list being the first page you see, and # 5 will be the last

Grab your folder (I wrote my name and student number on it) and place it inside the plastic pocket of the binder on the LEFT side.

Write your name on the binder too

Finally, I asked them what I should do with the sealed envelope from the fingerprinting place, and they told me to place it in from of the folder inside the binder.

so when you open the binder, you will see your folder on the left side, and just place the envelope right in front of it inside the plastic pocket.

Why they decided to be extra special with our paperwork I don't know, but it almost costed me a trip back home , I realized I had an old binder in my car, and I had already made holes on my papers because the folders had little fasteners in them.

I took a picture of these steps so I could tell you guys exactly how they want their paperwork handed in. Don't waste your time doing it how they told us on the email/orientation.

Again, this info is only for NORTH CAMPUS.

Talk to you guys soon :)

Omg Gaby that sounds even more ridiculous than it did when u told me earlier they made u do that :wacky:

seriously for south we just had to staple everything in a big stack together. No folder or anything. I guess this will be one of the wonders of the world! Lol :roflmao:

Good looking out for all your fellow north campus classmates so they could be prepared!

Yes they are sticklers at North with organization of your binder, but it makes things a lot easier for you in future semesters if you keep up with it as you should. You will need to turn it in at the beginning of each new semester making sure everything is still up to date.

Wow gigglygaby they giving me a headache already. I thought it was already bad in the email they sent us. Have anyone bought their uniforms from north campus? I heard about a kit that comes with polo, lab coat and pants. Does anyone know anything about it?

What! That's sooospecific!much appreciated for the heads up for the North campus people! :0)

haha no problem! I bought my 3 scrub tops today at south, saved me 30$

I will be going to festival flea market this weekend for the bottoms as the girls from the nursing club said thats where they got theirs from and a lot cheaper

Does south let you try on the scrubs or is it only central that does that..

Gaby how much are the scrubs top each?

At north and central scrub tops are 25$ at south they're 15$

So far central is the only campus theyll let you try it on. I'm not sure about south. North definitely not as I went there. I usually wear a medium for girls shirts. I bought extr a small for the scrub tops and keep in mind I'm not skinny lol. I also have broad shoulders.

Thanks Gaby! I guess I will be taking a trip down there!☺ How did u get notified so quickly about my post? Is there a setting for that?
