Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Is the fundamentals of nursing book difficult? I want to buy it too and start reading it because previous classes have said that it really helps to start reading ahead. I think I might order it next week off amazon. What edition is it?

It's good, it has a lot of new terminology. It is an open mind about the reform occurring in the US Healthcare System.

The edition sold at BC is the 8th edition.

Yeah I am probably going to order it sometime next week and start reading ahead because I know we are going to have a lot of reading to do once we start... Yay lol. I am so excited though and can't wait to start this new chapter in my life.

Stay away from South campus if you possibly can. It is no secret that nursing school is difficult, however this campus makes it nearly impossible.

Really?? Thats the campus I was probably going to choose because it is closer to me. I hear that Central is bad too

It's not impossible to do well, but it is significantly harder. You don't go from 40 students to less than half because people don't study hard enough. It truly feels as though they accept so many students just to weed them out in the first two classes and take their money.

I heard south is the easiest of the three campuses, so now I am all confused.

I know it wont be easy, but the closer I get the more scared I become.

I heard that north campus is the best of the three and south and central are bad lol... We are all hearing different things lol. This is not good!!!!

Stay away from south....Very sarcastic professors and Dean

Thank you guys I will try and stay far away from south unless they assign me to that campus because I heard last semester from two of my friends that they got assigned to go to that campus with a learning plan. So I hope that doesn't happen to me or any of us.

If by some reason you get stuck at south, it is not impossible to succeed. But be aware that they will fail you for a point, they will also change your schedule and expect you to comply at a moments notice. So if you have a job, kids, or a spouse, make flexible arrangements beforehand. As far as South goes, they do not care about what is going on in your life outside of the program.

Nurse987 are you at south campus now or did you already graduate the nursing program? We need all the advice we can get. Should I start reading ahead before starting the program and if so what books should I read. I just want to succeed and I will do anything I can do to do so. Hearing all of this craziness about nursing school makes me even more anxious though and gives me extreme anxiety. I already told my boyfriend that I live with that I probably won't have time for him anymore lol, but I know he will support me through it all.
