Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

I know I can't take the waiting anymore either and I went into the nursing department last week to ask them why my status still says denied-pending department approval and they were ride and told me not to worry about it that it will change when they view my form. I turned my application in 3 weeks ago so I am annoyed that it still hasn't changed to application in review. I think that we should have an answer by the time spring break is over though because the library is closed all break and that means that nobody can take the hesi during that week so maybe they will admit people

So do you think we probably will hear something after March 10th?

I'm so anxious that I bought a book Fundamentals of Nursing and I'm reading, I'm already in the 3rd chapter lol

Hey Crisjac,

where did you buy that book and how much was it?

Hey mbrown0203 is your status up? Did you applied last week right?

yes it shows that I turned in my application but it says denied- transcripts not evaluated. Next to the points there is an x and also next to the math section so I am still waiting for them to evaluate my transcripts. I want to know how many points ill have

Hey Shelly2014,

I bought it at BC, in the bookstore at central campus.

It was $150 with the guide. I read we probably won't use the guide in class, but I'm using as a way to exercise the content from each chapter. I heard from students that the first exam involve around of 10 to 11 chapters.

Mbrown you can figure out how many points you will have from A&P 1 and 2 and English 1. Those are the only classes that will be used to determine your Points for nursing school. So once you figure out your GPA from those five classes I can tell you how many points you will be awarded because it goes hand and hand with your GPA.

A&P 1 and 2 and the labs and English 1 sorry lol

Hey wait a minute, CHM, MATH and MICRO aren't considered for the GPA lol

Nope only the 5 classes that I named. It has been like that for a little while now. Chemistry hasn't been part of it since over a year ago.

they go by what you got in A&P 1 and 2 and the labs and English 1101 thats all.

You still need math, chemistry, and micro to go to nursing school because they are all part of the preregs but the deciding factor to get into nursing school and the only grades they factor into your GPA to get into nursing school are the five classes that I named.

Ok I understood, thanks for the explanation
