Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

My friend said the same thing. She actually had the option to choose and she picked south because it's closer to her. She said it's very hard and the professors seem to actually want you to fail because they have so many stupid rules that they expect you to follow and then don't help when you ask for it.

I wonder if there's a lot of applicants for the May program. I hope they decide soon, it's already march!!!! Hoping we all get in!

Anyone here applying for the LPN-RN transition in may?

all these opinions on campuses worry me! :arghh:

I have heard/read that North is the best, Central is the worst, and South is somewhere in between. There are varying opinions but it seems to be that North always end up at the top. I live a little closer to Central, but I will probably enroll in North because of that

I agree with you summer I am also going to go to north if I have the option even though centeral is the closest campus to me. I have heard the most positive things about north campus.

I'm sorry guys, but I cannot understand this fear. Of what are we scared? Maybe of the program being hard or the professors being rude? Remember that in reality the doctors will not act different toward us, some of them or maybe the majority probably will be extremely rude or maybe not, who knows right? However, we will not be able to avoid it for life. If the program is hard and I believe it is. It couldn't be different, it is fair assuming that we will be responsible for lives, and mistakes are not acceptable when a life is involved right? I believe everything is a preparation for real life in the hospital setting. So lets be strong and do our best.

I agree with you. I don't think we should get too caught up in what campus is better or worse and just try to be as well prepared as we can be. It's the same when people say a professor is a certain when and then when you meet them it's the total opposite. I've had professors that were rude and not helpful but studying and working hard in the end their behavior didn't affect my grade.

I agree, I live closest to South and all see on here is how it's not the best and how they fail you for any reason. I'm not too worried about it because I am serious about the program, maybe the people they have failed really weren't putting all their time into it? I really don't know what the case could have been but all I am saying is don't let the horror stories discourage you, if you are really committed you will be just fine (:

I agree as well. As long as there is 100% dedication and commitment one should be fine no matter which campus they may choose. With that said, does anyone know which campus is offering the LPN to RN track this May? I'm asking because I live in Dade county and would be prefer to go to South or Central campus for the generic track.

It's normal to fear the unknown. We just have to work hard and do our best to succeed.

I know plenty of people who put their all into this program and still did not make it. Don't be fooled. This program is doable but sometimes you just have to be lucky. I've seen people fail for one simple mistake and others pass doing that same thing wrong. As soon as you guys get accepted, buy the fundamentals of nursing book. 8th edition. Begin reading ASAP. Find out from someone who is going to the same campus as you what chapters to read. DO NOT WAIT! There's nothing I can type here that can adequately prepare you for what you are about to face. This program requires you to be very independent! Any questions you guys have I will try my best to answer. I attend south campus. Summer session will be extremely hard. Good luck to you all!

So I know its spring break but I checked my status anyways lol. They evaluated my transcripts but still havent given me any points yet. Now I'm just anxious since they will be looking at the applications next week! :) We are near the end ladies! (and men if there are any in here)
