Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

I have the fundamentals book for sale with the study guide for $50 if you're interested.

Hey NPA do you still have the book available??

I have a copy of it. What's your email?

I recieved it. Thank you though! Btw I think I know you IRL :)

Nursing students, I posted this on the May thread as well. You can receive up to $8,200 in grant money for nursing through Broward Career Sources WIOA Act. I applied two weeks ago and received an approval email today.

I went to the Oakland Park location and picked up an application. I brought it back completed with several required documents to orientation (8:30 SHARP every tuesday). I was told there are literally millions of grants just waiting to be handed out to students in need. If your total household income is under 40k you will be eligible.

Here's some info

If you have a fellow nursing friend who is not on allnurses, please let them know about this opportunity. This is a great grant for someone ineligible for the PELL Grant because they already have a 4 year degree, or someone struggling to pay for tuition, books, and supplies.

Yes I have the textbook and study guide combo. Can meet at north campus

For those of you who are attending north campus...for math do you guys get to use a calculator ?

Yes but you need to buy the little basic white one from the book store. No other one will be accepted... Not even the basic in pink or blue. The math teacher is extremely particular... And trust me its not worth arguing.

Can anyone give any insight on central campus professors?

I recieved it. Thank you though! Btw I think I know you IRL :)

Ur welcome! & really? How, What, Where? Lol

Hello, I am getting ready to start the nursing program in a month and i was wondering if any of you have any advice for starting out. Also I'm wondering, approximately how much reading do you have per week? I'm just trying to prepare myself for what to expect.

It's Broward college. Just get yourself ready. If your going to be at south campus-- monitor for anxiety. Seriously ! They're the stricter campus. And the reading is heavy but hey what program isn't. My advice to you is DO NOT do what you want to do. If they tell you emerald green don't bring sea foam or lime green. Follow exactly whatever they tell you. And most of all pray and keep yourself grounded.

Congrats to all May students!!!! I felt the same way when I started in January.

I'm starting GI/GU in May, but I'm scared as hell because it's only 6 Weeks! Please, read and study you book. This nursing program is not a joke at all. Good luck to you all!!

Hello,

your first exam will be on Vital signs, Hygiene, Safety, Health Assessment, Documentation, Nursing Process (North Campus)
