Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

I have a question in regards to the HESI. If anyone who is in the program now knows. I had heard that with the HESI scores depending on what your score especially on A&P that the lower the score is to that 75% the less chance you get into the central campus. I just wanted to ask someone who is in the program now if they may know when they applied and got in. Hope everyone is doing well! Keep up the good work[emoji106]🏼

Hey Kingrn the Hesi scores won't decide if you get in a particular campus. The Hesi scores are pretty much a tie breaker if you and someone else have the same GPA they would use your Hesi scores to decide. Also. Ms. Nichole also stated in previous posts that your campus isn't decided based off of where you submit your application. You wouldn't choose your campus until after orientation. When they give you the date to register they provide the list of all of the course numbers and from there you choose the campus you want.

@kiverson001 thank you for clarifying that!

People who were accepted were basd first:

1) on prerequisite GPA. the higher the GPA, the better your chance.

2) HESI scores were considered as the tie breaker for people with the same GPA.

If anyone has received a syllabus for Process II reading, I would appreciate if you shared it! I am retracking lab and would like to start my reading for process II. Please help.

I have a copy of it. What's your email?

Mines is at 9am.

Question: the books in the list for process 1 and 2 are going to need them for the whole program or just that semester? I have to rent my fundamentals book and need to know how long I will have to need it. Also the med surg and all the companions and study guides that go with fundamental of nursing. I plan on purchasing Jarvis and Davis's.

I have the fundamentals book for sale with the study guide for $50 if you're interested.

hi current nursing students! I was wondering if abyone was using prior editions of any of the required textbooks, and if there was any significant learning curve in doing so?

do you say go for it, or no?

Depends on your professor. They all lecture from the new edition which does have differing material. It depends on if they give you the vital information or not. North campus is 70% lecture and 30% from the reading so the newest edition is highly recommended.
