Pharmacology for nurses 4th edition by Adams. Honestly I bought the book and never used it. If you have dr. K, print the slides before class and read them, then take notes during lecture. He teaches everything you need to know in lecture. The book is well over $100 so in my opinion, save the money and buy the books for your core classes. They teach you only a portion then the rest of the tests are on the book material so be prepared to highlight your life away.

Have you taken micro? That was the tie breaker for our entry class. Don't be discouraged. My first attempt, I applied at PBSC and didn't get in. Then I applied for PBSC, BC, and Nova and got into all 3.

GIGU students at central and south, how is your class so far and how are the professors? North seems to be all over the place. They are literally giving us 2-3 days notice for orientations and simulations (because we should respect what they want but who cares about being respectful to our responsibilities such a work schedules) on top of cramming in lab hours and test prep for the first exam. You would think this is their first run at GIGU summer session at North. Interested to hear about the other campuses.

You will need to go to your primary dr and pay the copay if you don't want to pay upfront. You are only getting one shot. The rest are titers to prove immunity (blood drawn and mixed with the viruses to text response level). Only if they come back as not immuned do you get more vaccines. So even with insurance you need to know what blood work they cover because some plans don't cover titers, only initial vaccines because they are preventative! I went to md now. They give discounts to broward students. Physical, titers, ppd and vaccine were all $225. My insurance reimbursed me rather quickly. Md now provided rapid responses to titers.

She is a nice person, but she's particular. Its her way or she will make you feel like a 2 year old. From example: she will let you use the basic white calculate from the book store after lecturing for 20 minutes how they didn't allow it before.... A girl got the basic one (literally the same) but in pink... And she lectured us and didn't let her use it. So just do whatever she says and nod your head. She breaks it down and makes it very easy. Her notes are incredibly useful for preparing the math exams that you have at the beginning of every course. Just write what she says to write and if you don't understand, make sure you get help in the lab. You will have a math exam at the beginning of every course that you need to pass to move forward to demo and clinical.

Yes but you need to buy the little basic white one from the book store. No other one will be accepted... Not even the basic in pink or blue. The math teacher is extremely particular... And trust me its not worth arguing.

They will teach you skills. In return demo you are tested on the skills. If you don't pass, you get one more try. If you don't pass both, you do not get to move forward in clinical because you are not safe to be in the hospital. This means you will have to retake clinical. You will do these for each course you move through. The hardest part for process 1, in my opinion, is the head to toe assessment just because you have to know what to look for in each part of the body. Start reading your perry and potter now and really focus on vitals and health assessment. Also Jarvis is really good as well. I watched videos galore on YouTube for head to toe assessments. By the end of process 1, you'll be able to assess someone in your sleep lol.

They told us 3. However you only really need 2. Turn one in to the office then keep another set in a folder in your car incase you ever need a document. But make sure you scan and save the whole packet somewhere so you can make more copies in the future if you ever need. I had a 3rd copy in my binder but tossed it because space is precious!

Submit copies of everything including Cpr card. They need it for your clinical ticket, which you can't do return demo without. Also make copies for yourself. Things tend to get lost...

I believe the broward nursing club offers cpr classes for $25 but I'm not sure if it's for renewals or new cards too. Find them on fb bcnsa nursing or via email nursingclubbc@gmail
