Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

cassieann20, please listen, stay in Chicago and finish nursing school. They are caring, and willing to help. If you work and study hard in Chicago you will more than likely get through without retracking a bunch of times and go to LPN school or fail out. At BC nursing school should be just a review for you. You have to already know the information. The teachers tell you that you should already know the material. Don't think that you are going to get any assistance from anyone. Then to top it all off, the cost of living is through the roof and they grudgingly pay you $8.05 per hr and work you to death. Don't be sucked in by the passing rate at BC. Take a close look at the large amount of students they accept every semester, then see how many graduate which includes the retrackers. Think carefully.

Is anyone here starting nursing on central campus in January?

Hey guys, haven't been on in months. I was planning on applying for Jan. but due to not passing College Algebra I won't be able to apply till the summer. I took College Algebra again didn't do too well on my Final and I am not quite sure my final math grade so I am hoping I don't have to take another math course. In case I do, can anyone please let me know wether liberal arts or Statistics would be easier or better to take? Thanks so much and congrats on everyone who got in for January. Best wishes.

Took Liberal Arts, it was much easier for me

I am giving away a almost new BC North uniform set, size Large. I am getting away from here. Let me know if anyone would like it.

What happened if you don't mind sharing?

I graduated this month. ...no retracking....you can do it and even people who retracked graduated. It's hard work but you will be well prepared when you are done. (And ready to pass the nclex) so don't listen to negative talk. Study harder then you ever have. It will be worth it. No one is there to hold your hand. ...you need to just read and reread to master the material.

Congrats HammockBound, I am so happy for you and hope you have all the success in your nursing career. I am going back to Chicago to do nursing school. Florida is stressful for me.

I'm going to central

Im going to central

If anyone is looking for all white shoes and a bc nursing uniform I have and will to give it away for cheap! Let me know if interested my email is [email protected]

Why cant we wear shoes with logos like Nike or Adidas? I mean in reality I've seen many real nurses wear logos and colored shoes, so I don't really understand. Why does it matter

It matters because that is what the nursing instructors want. One of the things students struggle with the most is that not everything that is asked or required of you (us) will make sense. You will quickly learn that the world of nursing school and real world nursing are VERY different. Follow their rules, as crazy or nonsensical as you may think they are, and you'll be that much closer to finishing the program successfully. Choose not to follow the rules, and they will bounce you out of class so fast, your head will spin. I've seen it first hand.

So true! Especially at south campus.
