Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

Attending central as well, hopefully we will hear something soon from our professors. What shoes did everyone get for clinicals? And are you wearing your clinical outfit the first day or just whatever shoes with your scrubs?

I haven't received anything from the professors.... Class days we wear polos with the be logo and our scrub pants

Hi everyone!

Congrats on getting into the program. Anyway, whats the deal with all of the books? I have been searching high and low for some advice on what to purchase. I've bought almost every "required" book and now I am out around $850. I've been reading that some of the professors (pharm) may not even use the book- which is $182. ALSO- SHOES, for men. I have been searching everywhere for all white men's shoes that actually fit and it has been horrible. Let me know what you all think! can't wait

I can't believe we only have a week left until we start! I'm beyond excited!! I bought nurse mates. They're all white without any logos and super comfortable! A little pricey but they'll last a while and you have to make sure you buy ones that are comfortable because youll feet will kill. Buy cheap you buy twice!

South Campus peeps where are you [emoji102]

Hey mursynursy  I will also be going to South Campus. I hope you had a great Xmas break and you are ready for the upcoming first semester!

Awesome yay finally someone else lol. And yup! I know what to expect from BC cause last year I was in the LPN-RN program. It's gonna be hard but so worth it. Perseverance and lots of prayer.

Will you be working ?

I bought the book bundle that we got in orientation the new dean at north told me that those are the most important .

I agree with you, at the end of our journey all our sacrifices will be paid off. I have a part

time job, work 18 hours per week. Hopefully I can do both without any problems. Have two kids but also a good husband who is currently in nursing school as well. So with that said I will have plenty on my plate but we can do this! How about you? Are you working?Any kids?!

Wow that's a handful! And your husband is in nursing school too? That's cool! [emoji51].

I work as an lpn at a nursing home now full time but more than likely I'll go down to per diem for Friday's and Saturdays only. Finances will be tough but hey. And no I have no kids and no hubby. Lol

Handful indeed! Yeah, he starts his second semester tomorrow. Hmm I see what you mean, full time jobs and nursing school are not a good combination. Finances will be tough... But if it makes you feel better know that you are not the only one on that boat lol. Hopefully we get to know each other well, I wish you the best of all. And just like you said before, let's not forget we must study hard, have faith and always pray! Good night! :sarcastic:
