Broward College Nursing January 2016

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

yes! I am. it seems most people on this thread are going to central and south. I want to find more central students as well

If I remember correctly, you will know your first or second day of clinical. Some of it depends on your clinical instructor. Most instructors are on campus Tuesday and Wednesday. Some are there just one day. That means if your instructor is only on campus on Tuesday, your clinical day and also your hospital day will be Tuesday. If they work both days, you might have options. Some of the instructors are willing to work with students to accommodate schedules and allow you to pick your day. That's the long answer. The short answer is try not to stress too much. It will all be explained to you in class.

For north campus students , does any one have the syllabus for any of the classes? I know we should be getting a head start on the reading but I'm not even sure what chapters and what I should focus on with out a syllabus. I also got an email from the mtb 1370 professor about the class did anyone else get one?

Yes I received the email as well but still no syllabus.

Mrs. King sent an email for north to start Reading gloria Pickar. I would start with that. There May be a reason why She did. (Maybe a test On The first or second class??) who knows. i would also start Reading The fundamentals book.

So happy some ppl from Central campus replied! Have you rec'd a syllabus from any of the professors yet? I remember hearing that we should be on the look out....An based on the syllabus we'll know what to do about reading ahead, etc.

If you have the 3rd edition of the dosage calculation book would that be ok? Or we have to get the 4th edition?

no i havent gotten anything yet. someone told me to read chapters 29&30 in the fundamentals book. its over vitals & stuff. so i guess start there until we hear something from our profs.

Attending central as well, hopefully we will hear something soon from our professors. What shoes did everyone get for clinicals? And are you wearing your clinical outfit the first day or just whatever shoes with your scrubs?
