Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)
Good luck :)
So glad i found this forum. Im also applying for Jan 2016 finishing my pre req next week taking the hesi first week of sep. I have a dilemma... which campus should i apply for?? I've heard south is the hardest. Has anyone heard anything positive or neg about north, central or south campus? Please help!
Based off what I experienced for an August start here at Broward, the only thing that really matter is your pre-req gpa. If you share a GPA with other students towards the bottom of the totem poll (they only take 300ish students), only then will they look at your HESI scores.
If if you have a low pre-req GPA, I hope you have high HESI scores.
The system they use to rank the best, most qualified students, to me seems a little unfair since the HESI is the only standardized test that can accurately rank student knowledge of subject material since pre-reqs can be take at so many different instructions where there can be varied levels of knowledge of the subject material.
However, that is just my just my personal opinion. I have since then decided to apply to other programs so we shall see. I wish everyone the best of luck.
I had a lower pre-req GPA, a 90% HESI, and a bachelors degree in different field. Let's see if I have better luck this time.

Iv heard that South is bad because its "ghetto". North and Central are pretty much the same with the exception of some people saying Central is the hardest. I think you should just go for the one that is closest. You're going to have to be there early & the closer the better :)
