Broward College Nursing January 2016

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

I am glad I found this forum, I have just applied to the college. I have already completed all my pre reqs at PBSC , and I am preparing for the HESI exam now I plan on taking it by the first week of September since acceptance are known to come out around the end of sept. I am also awaiting them to receive and evaluate my transcripts from palm beach state. I am a little worried about the GPA for the pre reqs I am not sure how to calculate the points since I have no evaluated transcripts I cant see the points that i will receive.

Any tips on the HESI i have not started preparing for it but im looking into some books now any suggestions? and is my timeline ok? Im afraid that most people would have already applied by now. HELP PLEASE.

Glad you found this forum too:) For the HESI, I used the book that they sell in the book store. You would just ask them for it.. its like $50. I also

downloaded the app on my iphone for $9.99 it had a lot of questions that helped. Make sure you know your anatomy. I remember that it asked me stuff that wasnt even in the practice book so make sure you know the basics of everything. Also, sharpen up on math skills.. some of the questions are fill in the blank (no one warned me about that). Buy

the book asap, study, and take the test soon because they will start to look at applications any day now.

Hello Everybody,

I just took my Hesi and turned in my application on Tuesday. Is myBC supposed to update under the"Limited Access Application Status"? I just wanted a confirmation that they properly received my application, because as of now it says I have no active applications to display.

My Hesi score was a 92% overall but my GPA is a 3.0, and I am worried about being denied. Has anyone gotten in with similar GPA/Hesi Score?

it takes time for it to update in your bc account. I dont think you'll be denied. iv seen people in other threads get it with their gpa in the 2s.Don't worry.. positive thoughts :)

I just want to share with everyone that I passed the HESI!!!!! I took it twice, the first time I failed grammar and A&P, but the second time I passed them both.Thank you god!!!!!

I have not taken it yet, how did u prepare for the grammar and A&P sections? I am taking in on Thursday and will be turning my application in on the same day if I pass every section. I am currently struggling with the A&P and grammar, any suggestions?

my application still says ""Pre Program Application"" and I turned in my application and paid the $20 last week of July, has anyone else's status changed and when did you turn it in, does anyone have an idea when they are suppose to start reviewing applications

I spoke to someone today at the North Campus and she said have your application in by the first week of September because they start reviewing during the 2nd or 3rd week of Sept. So im trying to get my HESI done this week so i can be done. Does anyone know about the points I calculated my GPA for my A&P's and English and its a 3.6 does anyone know how many points that would be?

Well for the grammar, I took my time and carefully read the hesi prep book that the school sells. For the A&P section I recommend QUIZLET, QUIZLET, QUIZLET!!!

The first time I took the test, I read the prep book, regular book, and lab book. But it didn't work for me. Since is so much information I didnt know what was important and what wasn't. For the second try I downloaded the quizlet application on my phone. Just search for a&p hesi test and start studying as much as you can. I used the learn" option, you'll see what I mean if you download the app. Goodluck!!

4.0= 16, 3.9=15, 3.8=14 ...
