Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

I was told that they are getting strict about the uniforms. One of the students said they do uniform checks to make sure you have on the scrubs from the uniform store! I wouldn't chance it.. follow the letter of the law and listen to what they ask for.. or at least wait until you go to the next orientation... it will make your life much easier.. only thing I wouldn't be as concerned with is taking the CEU's if they have the state registry number..it does not take a genius to get in but LISTENING,COMPREHENDING, AND FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS IS PARAMOUNT! NO offense guys but some of us are already demonstrating bad habits by NOT listening and following basic instructions.. sorry for being so condescending but it's the truth.

Hey kyrsjh!

Welcome!

I'm still undecided as well. My choices are Central or North

Ok I hear you and all but take this from someone who was at south campus -- the strictest campus of them all. Central and north campus lets their students get away with a little more compared to south. I've had plenty of friends graduate from both over the years and i have stories for days. When I was at south last year I bought the pants from the uniform store because they fit better. And the pants from the school are cheaply made. A couple of washes in and the color fades and they start to rip. They were the same blue color as the school uniform and they didn't check uniforms but they did check for socks. Oh and they were 'strict' about uniforms last year too-- that's why half the class bought the pants elsewhere.

Just curious if anyone has received an email yet.

Just curious if anyone has received an email yet.

Emails have NOT gone out yet. In pre-admissions I stated emails will go out before registration, and up to as late as Tuesday night.

Hello, I just finished up with process 2 and I have the fundamentals for nursing and clinical book for sell. I also have the reading list so you can get a headstart on reading! My email is [email protected]. Thanks and good luck!!

Has everyone had their fee added? Been checking every hour and nothing. I'm Worried now because Everyone I've talked to has.

Relax. It takes time. And their probably doing it in the order the students got the test done.

It takes time to add drug screening fees for 270 students. In pre-admissions, I stressed that it would take a few days to get everyone's information entered in the system.

I was just curious. Im just excited to start getting everything done. Thank you for letting us know that the emails will be out tonight. :)

Hopefully we will be able to wear other pants (there are some great comfortable brands that last years- Greys Anatomy scrubs by Barco or Buttersoft are really comfortable and last long. I have had both and washed them hundreds of times and they have held up) but I am definitely waiting until we hear from the program. You never know if they will change the rules this year. Also, as you stated all of the campuses are different regarding what is acceptable.

Mine has not been added yet, do not worry! I know we are all anxious and want to get this all finished but it will happen!
