Broward College North Campus January 2011

Published

This thread was created for those attending Broward College North Campus in January 2011! We got accepted....let's do this:hpygrp:!!

I finally, have the chance to go get a physical done and my car decides to overheat,,,,Looks like I might have to defer my seat(I'm to old to cry) any one know a HONEST and afforadable mechanic.

Sorry you are having a hard time Missy :-( I have had a heck of a time too! It seems like every time I think I am getting something accomplished another road block presents itself! Just keep your head up and stay positive! :-) We made it this far....don't let anything stop you now! I don't know any mechanics as I have only lived here for about 8 months! Hope everything gets better for you!

I don't know if anyone realized this or not, but if you look at this booklist it shows what books you need for each class...that way you can buy books as you go instead of all at once. The class is located on the left next to the author's name. What a relief not to have to buy all of these books at once! :-)

Hi! I am not in the program but I want to apply for next year. Does anyone know how competitive the nursing program is to get into? Do most people have to apply multiple times? Is Broward's nursing less competitive than Miami-Dades? I heard at Dade, people wait years to get in. I don't have that kind of time. What kind of grades/ volunteer experience did you guys have in order to get accepted. I go to Florida State now and will be graduating in the spring with a 3.2 probably. When I move home to Miami I am going to take my science prereqs and plan on doing much better than I have done here at FSU. Any suggestions? I'd love to hear from you guys since you already know what it takes to get in! Thanks

BC offers approx 300 seats spring and fall spread throughout their 3 campuses plus a class that starts at one of their campuses over the summer. I heard 1000 applicants qualified for this Jan class. Don't have experience with Miami/Dade however the Palm Beach State program is tougher to get into ie fewer seats available and more prereqs required. Volunteer experience not required. Look at the application for BC nursing. gpa matters for your english comp, chem (no lab), AP1/lab, AP2/lab classes-that's it-so ace those courses. HESI exam very important to score well on. You could get it all done in a couple semesters. 3.2 at FSU-you'll do fine.:)

Finally done with everything!! :rckn: Just waiting on my CPR card in the mail and then I can finally bring everything to campus. Does anyone know where we actually bring everything? I know it's in the Health Science building but I'm not sure exactly where.

Hey there! Hope everyone is getting all of the tasks completed! :-) I just wanted to let you know that I just had the TB skin test and tetorifice vaccinations at the Broward Health Department for 35 dollars. I still have to get the Chickenpox titer, which is 30 dollars, but you have to go to Hollywood for that. I have a list of prices for all vaccinations if you want to know the price for something let me know! Also I only had to wait for about an hour. No appointment necessary.

Is there any way you could pm me the contact info for this? I am STRESSING out about how much all of this is costing!!

Does anyone else have a $4.00 Obligation. I wonder what's that for??

Did you do your drug test yet? Maybe you went to a center that charged more and they added it on the fee...

The folder gets turned in and you keep the binder with originals except copies of physical. Make sure your name and student # is on everything.:)

Good job:yeah:. I'm still waiting on titer results.

Also working on finishing up my Micro class.

I emailed Gregg to find out where to deliver everything.

I am also waiting on titer results :) I can't wait to turn everything in. I am also shopping for the scope, shoes, bandage scissors etc.. I want to get that done too.
