I'm going to work off this list unless I hear otherwise.

We dont need Fundamental Success and Test Success but I heard they are really good books to have. They help a lot with how to take the tests and with thinking critically.

I am taking it online. I asked the professor if I could use the second edition of teh book and she said it's ok. I got at amazon for less than $3.00:D, no shipping costs!

Awesome! I'll check Amazon. I am also taking the online math course.

Went to the campus today to turn in some financial aid stuff and saw a sign saying they now offer RN-BSN.... has anyone else heard about this?

Yup.. They offer an RN to BSN Program. It starts this Jan. I'll definitely be doing that after I become an RN. :nurse:

Does anyone know if the edition of the Davis's drug guide (deglin) matter? I bought the 11th edition rather than the 12th editin for a fraction of the price...

Hi! I am not in the program but I want to apply for next year. Does anyone know how competitive the nursing program is to get into? Do most people have to apply multiple times? Is Broward's nursing less competitive than Miami-Dades? I heard at Dade, people wait years to get in. I don't have that kind of time. What kind of grades/ volunteer experience did you guys have in order to get accepted. I go to Florida State now and will be graduating in the spring with a 3.2 probably. When I move home to Miami I am going to take my science prereqs and plan on doing much better than I have done here at FSU. Any suggestions? I'd love to hear from you guys since you already know what it takes to get in! Thanks

Hey there! Hope everyone is getting all of the tasks completed! :-) I just wanted to let you know that I just had the TB skin test and tetorifice vaccinations at the Broward Health Department for 35 dollars. I still have to get the Chickenpox titer, which is 30 dollars, but you have to go to Hollywood for that. I have a list of prices for all vaccinations if you want to know the price for something let me know! Also I only had to wait for about an hour. No appointment necessary.

Quick question is titer and booster the same? I cant wait to get a job with insurance. Could you tell us the price once you get all the vaccines done(MMR, etc etc).

My opinion would be that the nursing program is slightly cometitive. The first time I applied I did not get in but the second time I applied I did get in :). I'm not really sure how Miami Dade's program is so I wouldnt know if it was more or less competitive than Broward's. At Broward there is no waiting list; They accept you based on your GPA in the prereqs and you need to pass the HESI exam with 75% or above in each section. I got accepted with 9 points which equals to a 3.2 gpa and they'll give you an extra point if you're a resident of Broward County.

I got EVERYTHING done at an Urgent care today. Physical, all the titers and the tetnus and I payed $235.00 The physical was only $50.00 the place is on flamingo and griffin.

Thank you for your response!

I finally, have the chance to go get a physical done and my car decides to overheat,,,,Looks like I might have to defer my seat(I'm to old to cry) any one know a HONEST and afforadable mechanic.
