Broward College North Campus January 2011

This thread was created for those attending Broward College North Campus in January 2011! We got accepted....let's do this:hpygrp:!!

What do we do with the objectives?? Just keep them as notes?

I have math on thursdays as well at 1. My goal is to have the objectives all answered and the chapters read along with watching all the animations as well as answering the review questions for this chapter in my fundamentals and success book by the lecture on Monday. That way I will feel a little at ease. I have 10 pages left of reading and then to do the animations..

I read the WHOLE Vital Signs chapter and did all my highlighting. I also wrote out the objectives into a word document and just typed in the answers as I went along. I havent answered any questions at the end of the chapter yet and I havent read chapter 5 in the skills book.

The learning objectives from the course module Nurs1020 we bought in the bookstore are what we are going to be tested on.

The teacher says before coming to lecture:

1. read objectives

2. read the chapter and highlight answers to objectives. (vital signs is module 2.2 in the packet.)

3. take notes during lecture

4. combine objectives, highlights in book and lecture notes.

5. rewrite and completely answer objective

This info is outlined in her 'Study Suggestions' handout.

Also read Chap 5 from Perry/Potter Nursing Skills.

Hope this helps.:)

Did anyone start to ready Perry/Potter Chapter 5 yet? I feel like it is exactly the same, word for word, as Fundamentals Chapter 32. I started reading a few pages and skimmed through the rest. Not sure if I want to use my time reading the same thing or work on something else.

Also, has anyone tried to get into the Evolve website course that she gave us? Do we have to pay for those b/c it says its either $69 or we have to have an access code.

Chap 5 has some info that is not covered in Chap 32-it had answers to nclex questions. It gives you a more details than 32.

Should you read it too?

It is on the required reading list.

I know it's a lot.

Better to err on the side of doing too much than too little for now-

Ok, thanks! I will definitely go back and read it then. I didn't think it was any different but if you said it has more info then that's great. I already did the questions at the end. Ahhh so much to do! We have a crazy amount to read by Friday if anyone has checked that out yet

Hey guys, I never got the email sent from the math teacher. Can someone forward it to me?

Edit: ok good! Thanks for making sure!

hi ladies,

i'd love it if you would say hi to me in class some time. it would be great to connect a face to all your helpful posts. i'm the guy with the reddish beard sitting in the front (though i may have to move seats since i'm going to start using my laptop for class notes and she may not want me right in front of her). :jester:

I got email(s) from the Pharm teacher but none from the Math teacher. Anybody get an email from the math teacher?
