Broward College May 2011

Anyone else palnning on applying for May 2011. Im currently in the process of transferring back to broward and I am planning on applying for May. I have all my pre-reqs done and I already took and passed the HESI, and I also have HOSA so I think I may be in a good position(fingers crossed). I just need to take Micro & I plan on taking that in the winter term. If anyone can recommend a teacher I would greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone know if the CAE credits have to be done PRIOR to the pre-admission orientation or do we have until May to get all those certifications?! EEEKkk!!!!:yeah::yeah:

From the wording, it sounds like we have until May. What are the CAE credits? I think I did them in the Core at Sheridan Tech, but just to make sure...

If you did them at Sheridan, from what I heard- you should be fine. Its getting certified in HIV, CPR all that stuff-

Did you take it online at Sheridan? If so, how was it? I called them today and was concerned about not beign face to face for some of the things...

That's what I thought!

I would definitely recommend doing it at Sheridan just for economic reasons. If you take all the classes at Broward, you will end up paying twice as much plus the classes take a lot longer to complete. CPR is in person, though, so it's not 100% online.

Thanks for the advice! What about learning vitals and bedmaking and all that stuff that Broward requires you to do in their HCP core? I got waived for that and I havent done those skills in years... hope this isnt a problem bc I dont think they teach you that over in NP which is where we will be tested on that... :( If they do that at SHeridan then I can kill 2 birds with one stone...

Yes thank you Lord Almighty I just got the acceptance email as well :D!!!! So i'm guessing it's only gonna be in North campus after all. Good thing I've heard that's the best campus for the program :). This is all working out so beautifully!

Regarding the CEU's from reading the Jan 2011 thread I saw that alot of people did them through ceufast.com and I wrote down all the ones that they said they did and it was the following...

TB 2 hrs

Infection control and barrier precautions 4 hrs

Hep C 2 hrs

Aids/HIV 4 hrs

Medical Errors 2 hrs

Dom violence 2 hrs
