Anyone else palnning on applying for May 2011. Im currently in the process of transferring back to broward and I am planning on applying for May. I have all my pre-reqs done and I already took and passed the HESI, and I also have HOSA so I think I may be in a good position(fingers crossed). I just need to take Micro & I plan on taking that in the winter term. If anyone can recommend a teacher I would greatly appreciate it.

Anyone planning on bringing someone with them to orientation?

Im pretty sure everything can be done on ceufast except for the CPR

Pretty awesome

That's the way it looks unless they added something else

Did anyone get there titers or shots done yet? I did my titers, ppd and tetorifice at the end of december because my insurance was changing and it was going to be more expensive in 2011. And I had to get the hep b series all over again so I did the first shot in dec and I just got the 2nd shot on monday and I have to get the 3rd shot in 5months

Thanks for the advice! What about learning vitals and bedmaking and all that stuff that Broward requires you to do in their HCP core? I got waived for that and I havent done those skills in years... hope this isnt a problem bc I dont think they teach you that over in NP which is where we will be tested on that... :( If they do that at SHeridan then I can kill 2 birds with one stone...

They're mentioned, but obviously you don't get to practice them. I had to do them in Anatomy 2 Lab, though, so I'm not too worried. There are a lot of good videos on youtube, however, so if you're extremely worried, take a look there and practice on someone in your family.

I want to get my titers and vaccinations done sooner than later, but I'm not sure exactly what is required or what kind of documents I need to prove I had them done. Do you know what titers and vaccinations we have to have? I'm taking classes at FAU this semester so I plan on using the student health services there for my physical, titers, etc because it's relatively inexpensive. I think I'm going to go ahead and start my hep B series too. They are $43 each through FAU.

When I found my insurance was going to change I called and spoke to someone in nursing admissions to ask what we needed to get done and she everything that was on the physical form would need to be done...So i just took the form to my dr. and since I didnt have proof of my shot records she did the titers and the only immuniztion that came back that I needed to do was the Hep B series..Here is the physica form..lhttp://www.broward.edu/healthsciences/Supporting%20Content/nursing-medical_history_form.pdf

Hii everyone! I've been trying so hard to find people who got accepted to may 2011 at broward! im SOO excited I recieved my email yesterday and can't wait for the orientation! What do we need to do before the orientation besides email them back saying that we accept. I'm confused about the certificates, what are they?? Can't wait to meet you all at orientation! CONGRATS!

If you didn't take your health care core at Sheridan Tech, you have to do your HIV, Domestic Abuse, etc classes before you start the program.

Wow thanks a bunch, I didn't realize that form was available online. I already made an appointment to start the Hep B series, so now I should be able to get some more stuff checked off the list while I'm there. So if I'm reading the form correctly, we have to have all the titers done no matter what, even if we have proof of previous immunization?
