Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.
My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.
My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0
Love this! Especially since nursing has a reputation for being brutal to one another. I hope this generation of nurses are known for camaraderie. Firefighters and police stick together and so should we. We are about to start the hardest academic 18 months of our life. We are not alone and have each other so we should support and encourage one another. I know I'm available for questions just like I'm open to learning from others. If we stick together we can get through this!
I can't wait to join you all and meet you in August! Its true how nurses, or women in general have a rep for cattiness and brutality. I definitely hope to meet some amazing people in the program and help one another through it. SO excited for you girls/guys!
Thank you AshsaintI just looked at all the classes and everything is the same to the paper they gave us in class when it comes to clock hours. The only one that doesn't add up right is TB/OSHA/HEPATITIS. That one adds up to 5 hrs. Any one have any clue what to do?
For those electing to complete TB/OSHA/HEP using CEUFAST, you will ALSO be required to complete the four hour CEU class on Infection Control IN ADDITION TO the two hour class on TB/HEP and the one hour of OSHA.
Anyone know where I can get the titers blood test done for cheap? Does the health department work for that?
I called Any Lab Test Now! 561-237-5009 and the prices for the titers are as follows:
Hep B: $35
Varicella: $49
Rubeola: $35
Rubella: $35
OR MMR: $99
PPD/tuberculin test: $29
They said it takes 2-3 days for the results
Could somebody please post a picture of the paper that has all the CEU information on it? I was reviewing everything at lunch and the wind blew my papers everywhere so now I'm short a page.
Florida Laws & Rules- 2 Hrs
CPR/BLS
HIV/AIDS- 4 Hrs
Domestic Violence- 2 Hrs
TB/OSHA/Hepatitis- 6 Hrs
Prevention of Med Errors- 2 Hrs
Infection Control- 4 Hrs
I made the same decision, but I'm not yet sure on when during the nursing program I'll be taking micro. Why did you specifically decide summer?Just to be crystal clear, you are also starting in May?
No, I am already in the program. I started the program in January. Will be taking micro next summer when I have 6 weeks off. I am retracking lab. Half my class failed.

Goto the Health Admissions page, the forms for the physical are on there. Make sure you use the one that says nursing, not the one that say nursing update.
The forms to do the fingerprinting are on the statutory fingerprinting website as well as the BC website.
