  1. Granted, if you read the pdf and watch the tutorial, it will be easier than assuming that you know what you are doing. I have been working with American Databank for the past month. They are very helpful. They work with many schools and institutions - we are not the first.
  2. The fingerprinting component may not be optional until Monday.
  3. Hum... this may require a plan B.
  4. I sent out a very lengthy email last night that goes over many things - more emails to follow.
  5. I drop approximately ten new students every semester because they do not complete their paperwork by the deadline. Do I do this to be mean? No. Historically, if a student cannot complete their documentation in one month, they are not going to pass a nursing class in eight weeks. I do not know if alternates even attempt to complete their documentation during the "wait and see" process. If so, there may be an opportunity - but that is a question for Nichole.
  6. You need to mind. Your first semester, you will spend (close to) every waking moment in class or in the nursing lab. Most instructors are very strict in reference to time and attendance. Those 15 minutes could be the difference between remaining in class and retracking. Be smart. All three campuses teach the same courses, we simply go to different hospitals. We have the same policies. Students are entitled to the same scholarships. Do not believe the gossip or the lies - please ask someone who knows, like Nichole - during preorientation. Do not set yourself up for failure before your start.
  7. The only access code that you are required to use (on South Campus) comes with the pharm book. No other book requires an access book. Personally, when I went to school I bought everything used.
  8. They are not included in the Blue Bag.
  9. A student can sign a declination for Hepatitis B. A student cannot decline the flu immunization.
  10. For those electing to complete TB/OSHA/HEP using CEUFAST, you will ALSO be required to complete the four hour CEU class on Infection Control IN ADDITION TO the two hour class on TB/HEP and the one hour of OSHA.
  11. If I may, I would like to add something about the pre-orientation meeting. My dear friend Nichole speaks the truth. When she says "titers are required", she means it. When she says, "you are expected to meet the deadlines set by the campus", she means that too. When she says, "if you have any questions, call the campus you are registered and ask them", the nursing department will answer your call and attempt to help. Nichole has worked with the nursing department for years. She would never point a new student in the wrong direction; so when she "strongly encourages" or "recommends" something, it is based on experience and probably worth a second thought. She will provide you the information you need in order to walk through the door. What you do when you get to the other side is up to you. Dr. Stauffer
  12. No, it is referring to students who have yet to complete their drug screen. South Campus has a method of addressing those students who went to the Quest sites that do not provide receipt but we are not encouraging additional students to visit those sites.
