Broward College May 2016 RN program

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.

My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.

My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0

Does anyone know what day in May the program begins? Thanks...

The May term begins May 16. You can view the academic calendar online at: Broward College - Academic Calendars and Final Exam Schedules

Hi everyone! I didn't know this thread existed so I made one for May 2016 (whoops). I am applying for the program but have yet to retake my hesi. Does anyone know if they look into the hesi's by section or they just look at the cumulative??

HESI scores are by section. 75% or higher is required on all sections.

I see. If a particular section has a score of 79% but the cumulative overall is an 85% does the 79% hurt my chances? Thanks for your response. :)

We do not look at the cumulative score, just the individual sections.

How are the LPNs evaluated for acceptance in the bridge program? And approx. how soon do we hear anything from BC?

The review process is the same as generic students with the exception of having an active Florida LPN license.. In order to be considered, you must have a 2.5 or higher GPA in the pre-req courses (ENC, A&P I and lab, A&P II and lab), College algebra or higher (grade of C or better), HESI Exam (75% or higher on all sections).

For the LPN to RN transition program, we are looking at making decisions around mid March.

How is the competition to get in for the LPNs? Another student posted information about BC wanting to accept 50 students and had around 20 before Christmas break. I applied a few months ago... trying to patiently wait

We have not run reports yet to see the application numbers. Those reports will not run until the end of next month. Historically, we receive less applications for the transition program, than we do for the generic RN program.

Thank you for taking the time to answer some of my questions.

will anyone be working through the program?

We do not look at the cumulative score, just the individual sections.

When I submit my application do I have to attach every single result of the hesi? I took it a few times and have better scores in some sections on different retakes.
