Broward College May 2016 RN program

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.

My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.

My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0

Hi sorry I did not respond before but I was in finals. She is fine but math was hard for her because she is not good with number. She is studying 60 hours per week, listening the lectures and reading each detail in the boo, she said pharmacology is easy and clinics you have to pay a lot attention... I am going to take a month off but in January I think I am going to try to read books about critical thinking and nursing process 1 becuase our semester is short just 6 weeks ( I am little scared ) :( lol

She is doing fine. She is studying 60 hours per week. For nursing process she is listening the lectures and reading the book, for math was little difficult for her becuase she is not good with math and pharmacology she said is easy. I am going to take a month off and in January I am going to star reading about critical thinking and nursing process 1.. I am Little scared lol

oh wow, thats alot of studying! It is funny with the nursing math, because I always had such a hard time with math in general, but put it in nursing terms and I get it.

i think pharmacology would be pretty interesting to learn about, i'm skimming through some books now as well!

for practice.on the math, I started reading math for nurses..it breaks it down very nicely.

Hey future nurses, I submitted my App on Sept29 in hopes of getting into January's program. The adviser told me it was too late, as they were already reaching out to the applicants and the seat were filled. I took the Hesi without studying the first time and passed 3/5, then I waited forever to retake, because I was vacationing :(. I completed Micro n all other pre-reqs with a few friends from north campus and they submitted their apps in May or June and were accepted for January- needless to say I was pretty bummed out, which was my own fault. As far as the Hesi- It was not difficult, I heard so many horror stories and trust me it's not that bad. My Apps stats says "In review" so fingers crossed for May 2016.

Omg you scared me for a second! So you were too late for January, makes sense they've already had the orientation. ** Keeping fingers crossed for May **

Lol, sorry- But yeah, the adviser said it would be a miracle if I got in for January, so I was hoping for a miracle...lol. May is just around the corner though, and a previous post said they will start reaching out in February.

yes, i just spoke to an advidor and they said May 16 applications ahould be handed in by 2/15/16

Really!? Wow. I didn't know that. Any word on how that campus is?

it is the north campus that i am applying to. I want to go in and do my advisor appointment (they are only taking walk ins right now), so I'll let you know!

Went to apply right before Winter Break began, I spoke with Nicole at Central Campus. The advisor told me they are trying to get 50 LPN applicants and so far I was the 20th one, so my chances of getting in are very high. She said they will start deciding mid March.

If you don't mind me asking how many points were you awarded? I applied last month.
