Anyone Applying to the fall 2020 Nursing program at broward college , that is getting ready to take or have taken the HESI ?

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to know if it is necessary to take MBC2010 and MBC2010L in order to be considered for the Fall 2020 Nursing program at Broward. I thought a few months ago it said MCB2010 and MCB2010L are required for graduation from the Nursing program, and now it says it is a application requirement, the deadline is May 30th and I just wanted to know if any of you all took micro? any information would be helpful, thank you all.

I already applied to the program and I'm currently in micro. So you don't need it to apply. I also asked my advisor because I freaked out when I saw application requirement but she just told me its a recommendation. Now I know why, this class is HARD.

The course is NOT required to apply for this August. It will be an application requirement starting with the August 2021 application period. The Nursing department is aware of the error.

hey everyone! for those who have applied, how long did it take for it to show up on your MyBC? I applied last week but I havent heard anything from my application.... thank you

@Saraidiaz Well the deadline hasn't approached yet so the application window is still open so they will not be sending out any approvals yet, and from my understanding I believe they have 30 business days to send out approvals/denials

@BombMom17 once you apply though, shouldnt it come up on your limited accesss applications on the my bc?

Oh that part I am not sure ask @ndrullard and @Khareen has already applied

I sent in my limited health science application on Monday (5/18) to my academic advisor and then she forwarded it to the program. I received an email today (5/21), stating that my application has been received. My status on MyBC went from “supplemental application required” to “pre program application”. We won’t receive an actual accepted/denied notice until 30 business days after the due date (5/30). I would also recommend emailing @ndrullard as she has been very helpful with the application process.

It will show application received once we receive and process it; it is not automatic.

Who did you submit your application to?

I submitted my application to Gina Christiansen on may 12. She got back to me may 19 for my HESI scores, I sent them and I have yet to hear a response. I'm just worried my application won't be submitted in time. @ndrullard

If you do not receive it back by Monday, follow up with me ([email protected]). Since everything is remote, I can attest to the fact we are extremely busy and its definitely taking extra time to get things done. We will make sure everyone who is qualified and did submit the app prior to May 30th is considered.

hi everyone! ? hope everyone is doing well! I have applied for the generic RN program for the fall term about two weeks ago and just wanted to hop on here to ask some questions. @ndrullard I am a little concerned with the comment you made earlier about covid 19 possibly affecting the number of applicants being accepted into the program this year. Does this mean it will be more difficult and competitive to get into the program? When will we know if the classes will be remote or in person? I just want to take everything into account when choosing which school to attend, I would rather have an in person class and clinical experience and the classes being virtual would influence my decision on attending broward college if I were to get into the program. I am sorry for the questions I am just very nervous that I will maybe not be able to get into the program if my chances are cut in half because the number of students accepted are cut in half. Hope you all have a great weekend and goodluck on your HESI if you still need to take it
