Broward College August 2010

Published

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

It is just crazy to me that they don't have this all figured out already. My Fall registration appointment date is June 8th. I wonder how long after that date I will be registering? With the way they seem to work I can imagine I will be registering in July or August :uhoh3:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think registration for the nursing program is different and has nothing to do with that date. Your "registration appoinment" is for regular classes that anyone can enroll in. Nursing registration is done after the orientation so July/August anyway. Even if this isn't right...no one has been accepted yet so no one can register for nursing program classes yet. But, again, I could be wrong.

I had the same issue..do you know when we will here from them about accepting our seats for the next term. I tried calling but they jus tell me to check my email on a daily basis

You are correct. They tell you how to register at orientation. I'm just saying that I bet we won't know whether we are accepted or not for a long time. I hope I'm proven wrong :)

"hesi information change

until further notice the hesi examination scores will no longer be used as a criteria for admittance to the nursing program, but rather for informational purposes only. however, students meeting all other published criteria for admission into the nursing program are encouraged to submit their applications before the application deadline of july 2 in order to be considered for the august term.

students are still being advised to take the hesi exam, but it will not be used in the selection process. as always please visit the [color=#223344]nursing website for updates and or changes to the program."

how is this fair to us? i studied so hard to pass the hesi prior to even completing a&p2 so i could turn my application in by the original due date. all i can think of is that they must not have received enough apps to fill the needed spots which is why they are no longer requiring the hesi. which should mean that all of us are accepted since we met all of the requirements by the original due date, shouldn't it? the hesi was not a big deal at all! if someone can't pass that then they are going to have lots of trouble in the actual program.

I knew they where goimng to do that...last semester they contacted us 2 months before the semester began to preapre our admission packets for full acceptance. thet extended it to july 2 that only 30 days away from the start of the semester. who knows what they are going to do now I still think they shouldnt have extended anything

i knew it!!

That is such BS! I just called to say how unfair this is, and the lady in the nursing dept said that they were going to have another meeting about it. Wow. That's all I have to say.

Well, hopefully this means they can start to process the applications they already have and we can get on with this. I am annoyed about the time and money factor, but at least now they can get to work sending out acceptance emails!

i havent turned my application in yet .... im taking the HESI next week. In the end we all want to be nurses and life isnt always fair If you turned in your app on "time" you are in a better position than those who havent.

Good Luck to ALL!!

Omg...thats so messed up !!!!!

This totally unfair. Now there is no difference between people who took the hesi and passed it to the people who didn't take it at all. There is no incentive to take it. They should at least give pts to the people who passed, like they give pts to HOSA people.

I just don't understand how their going to accept people without all the applications being in. I wouldn't doubt if they only accecpt a certain amount of people so they can see what the second round of applications brings in.

just have to wait now!!
