I like to make calendars in Microsoft Word and schedule my to do list throughout the time allowed. I used this for all the orientation nonsense and for each course. I scheduled everything (reading with page numbers and time allowed, care plans, journals, group work time, and relaxation)
Consider using the calendar. It works well for me and it keeps me from becoming anxious b/c i know when I'm on schedule for finishing tasks. Also, I don't feel guilty when I'm not studying b/c it's all scheduled.
Just a heads up, when you reach Ortho, you have to do everything you're doing for orientation over again. They usually don't tell students that. Some of my classmates had a hard time finding the money to pay for everything a second time (finger prints $60; online background check $29 min., but it goes up if you have changed your name, lived outside the state, etc; drug screen $30, plus the physical and and CEU courses needed) So, if you're on a budget, put a little aside for this b/c if you don't update it all, you can't attend clinicals.
Talking about expenses, I don't have insurance and at my doctor's office all the immunizations would total just over 400. Does anybody know of a clinic or something where I could get the shots cheaper? Also, I remember reading about books for the first semester but couldn't find it again, can you guys tell me which should we buy or not? And somebody told me not to get an used perry potter because you want to do your own highlighting? Thanks for the help...
Wow so orientation was soooo long yesterday and with all the questions that were asked I am still wondering...do we need to have our uniform, stethoscope, books etc on the first day of class?? Nothing was mentioned and now I dont know if we find out on the first day or what...can someone help?
Also I keep hearing the bundle is not worth it...could someone please list the books that are critical for the first semester...im going to south but I think all campuses use the same books right?
