Brookhaven Nursing Spring 2016

Published

This forum is for anyone applying to the nursing program at Brookhaven College for the spring 2016 semester.

I will be applying for the spring semester and would like to meets others who are applying as well.

Specializes in Neuro/EMU, Pediatrics, Med Surg.

So the dosage grades should be up by Tuesday- the instructor said it might take that long since the class was a big group today :-/

I hope I passed because the exam seemed pretty basic. Fingers crossed!!!

Hi everyone,

I was accepted to El Centro Fall nursing program and had to drop because I had an unexpected surgery. I checked in this program and have a few questions for you all.

Where is the point system? I already took HESI and made 80. I do not have chemistry, I am taking it this semester. But it's 1406. I saw it said 1405 or 1411.

I do not have patho, pharm, ethics , or dosage.

Can I still apply by September 30???

No, because Chem and dosage are both requirements to apply. Also, a huge amount of points come from your HESI- anything over 75 adds points, so you would have 5 points towards your app, but if you retake the HESI and score say a 90 then you would have 15 points towards your app. It really adds up and worth the retake for the points!

Will El Centro hold you a spot in the next class??

Well that blows!!!! And no ECC will not hold my spot at all. She said I would have to reapply and that woulld be for Fall 2016 because spring deadline has passed :( I am bummed.

But I will reapply there in January and also UTA. I am already admitted to UTA and plan on taking a couple class in spring. Hopefully that goes asz planned, if not I am pretty sure ECC will accept me back because I have about 31 or so points....

Did you apply to BHC?

I took my dosage exam Friday so as soon as the grade is posted I can add it to my application and turn it in :-)

Then we wait.............

UTA is pretty good, if I weren't so impatient I would really try for their BSN program lol

Bijoubella how do you feel you did on the dosage exam?! it was a huge class huh!

PD82 LVN, it was a huge class indeed! The exam was pretty much the same stuff on the practice tests, if I don't ace it, I will hit myself hard! I have been on panic mode since I saw how many people were taking it. Am retaking Hesi on tue, took it at tvcc in August and got an 86, I wasn't too happy with it. I have 24 points with that.

how did you do?

I'm taking my first attempt at the dosage calculations test this coming Friday. Can you all offer any tips on study or what is predominantly on the test? Anything I should focus on? Was it difficult in your opinion? It's all I have left to turn in my app. #sostressed

Grades posted, I was there too! Passed, I was worried considering that was the most chaotic class I have ever been involved in, grr!

Test pretty much went off practice exams

I passed with a 95, Yay! That's all I needed to submit my app :geek:

Some things from the practice exams that were NOT on the real exam were the BMI and ideal weight questions, just an FYI. Other than that, it was very much like the practice exams. It was not a tricky exam though, if you know your conversions you should do great!!! Good luck!!
