This forum is for anyone applying to the nursing program at Brookhaven College for the spring 2016 semester.

I will be applying for the spring semester and would like to meets others who are applying as well.

I've got a few questions:

1) Has anyone completed the packet to be returned to Nancy by Dec. 23?

If so, did you all receive information back on where we go for the drug screen and background check AFTER we've paid for it?

2) I had to register for Pharmacology, but, when I attempted to take it during the summer, I was able to keep my syllabus and the drug sample card. Does anyone have just ONE sample of their completed drugs (IE- Haldol). The reason I ask, is that there is no room for side effects, contraindications, etc. I'm just needing to see how she's grading them.

I have not completed the packet, just need to visit my doctor for my Hep B titer and I should be all set. I believe they drug test is randomly during success camp and I think the background check is sent to the school but I'm not 100% sure. Sorry I can't help with the second part.

Hi guys!

I'll be applying to the 2016 program as well. I start chemistry tomorrow and plan to knock out ethics next session- and HESI on the 29th. How is it going for everyone so far?

Hey who did you take for chemistry and how was it? Would you recommend the professor?

Ok thanks for that information I will look into his classes. What kind of grade did u get from his class? And when u say easy, easy in what aspects? I'm just trying to get a better feel of some professors for science.

I made an A in the class. Easy as in he ensures that you understand the material and if you don't, he will try to figure out a way that helps you better understand it before moving on. There is also tutoring available both in the BRC and on the third floor, as well as multiple extra credit opportunities. From what I can see on my screen I am unable to see the name of the instructor I suggested so if you were not able to see his actual name, please PM me.

I've completed all prereq's, the dosage calculations test, and will be taking the critical thinking exam they require and the HESI within the next two weeks. I am a bit nervous but I have faith I will get accepted. I sure hope I do. Does anyone know the minimum score needed on HESI to apply? And whether or not its per subject, or accumulative? Any and all information would be appreciated! Thanks. (:
