I took my Hesi today so as of today I will be applying to Spring 2016!! Yippee just spent and hour trying to figure out on the Fall 2015 post what the minimum points amount will be competitive...haha

If I calculated correctly I'm hopefully applying with a 29.81. What do you think you will be applying with? How did you do on your Hesi?

I scored a 91. That will get you in. I still have to take micro in fall. The last two semesters the lowest accepted I saw was at 21 and 24. I think I will be at 25-26.7 depending on my pharm grade I am taking right now. Where did you take pharmacology? I am assuming you completed all your prereqs?

I scored an overall 91.6 on my HESI back in March 2014. I still need to take the dosage calculations course, just waiting to see when the next one is available. Yes I have taken all of my prereqs. I took micro online this spring through Cedar Valley with Prof. Jane Slone, it was not difficult at all as long as you keep up with the assignments. I made an A in that class. I took pharm online through El Centro back in the summer of 2012, also made an A. I've taken just about all of my prereq's online just because I work full-time and I'm married with 2 kids at home. It's easier than having to go to class at night for my situation. Although, if I were to get accepted I will obviously have to quit my job (scary) and become a full-time student. I think 25-26.7 is pretty competitive! I'm just excited to finally apply. I wish they would update their information on the Brookhaven site so we can see our deadlines and if anything has changed. They made changes last year and some of them were last minute.

Dosage calculation will begin in July you have to sign up when fall registration opens.

oh no... I go on a week long vacation July 24-Aug 1. I know last semester they did it in Dec-Jan or so and you only have a few class meetings to go over the material and the last few meetings were tests. I guess I could be ok as long as I'm not missing a test opportunity. I'm ok with teaching myself the material if needed.

I believe August 1 was a meeting at the school, I have heard mixes things. It used to be a self study course but they said you have to go to the school 2 or 3 times times, also heard from a student they are not mandatory. So I haven't figured out how the course actually runs.

My friend Erica just got accepted into the Fall 2015 group for Brookhaven, she took the dosage class last winter and also said the class meetings are not mandatory, they are more like study sessions to go over the material and then you test on it in the last few class meetings. Doesn't sound too bad.

So if you have a friend in the program now, have you talked to her about how it is going? Nervous about being a single mom and making it, but I need this like the air I breathe.

Agreed, I definitely need this too. I've been working on getting to this point for years now. She starts the program Fall 2015, right now they are going through ordering scrubs, finger printing, background checks etc. I'll try to update this post as I hear from her about how it's going though.

Haha I have been doing so many year calculations and semesters, we are not to fall yet! Duh

MLANK I also live in Garland! I am finishing up my prerequisites for nursing now and will hopefully attend Brookhaven sometime soon. As of right now I have not even thought about the application process. I guess I figured I would try to beef up my score as much as possible before I decide to apply. I have just finished up taking Psych I, Psych Lifespan, A&P I , and English Comp. I know I probably need to take Chem, Pharm as well as the Drug Calculation course but what else can I take to maximize my score to be accepted? My weakness is Math and had to take a couple of remedial courses since it has been awhile since I have been in school. I figure this will be my lowest score on the HESI so the more courses counting towards my final score the better!! Good luck to you all attending!
