Hello everyone!! I have been doing my support courses for the last year and a half and I'm going to apply for the nursing program at Brookhaven this month. Though I'm not really stressing about it I am a little worried. This is my 3rd attempt at college and the first 2 times I did horrible!! Since I made the choice to go to nursing school in Summer of 2009, I've brought my GPA up from 1.76 to 3.0. And, all my grades in my support classes have been A's and B's except 1, Nursing Pathophysiology. I made a C in that class and it would have been a B if I had not made one mistake at the end of the course. So, my question is does anyone think that C in that class will hinder me much? If anyone can offer any insight it would be great. Thanks!!
I bought one pair of scrubs already! Hope they will be acceptable ones, they match the hunter of the Cherokee ones perfect at least so if that's the only thing I should be good. I went to Scrubs Etc in Grapevine and they had A LOT to choose from and a pretty good selection of different brands that had hunter ones. I also went to the scrub store in Grapvine Mills and they didn't have very much. Mine are Koi brand and they are really cute and comfortable and the fabric is so soft (especially when comparing them to the Cherokee ones) but I guess they were pretty pricey in comparison also.
kickymarcia, if you've already taken Patho and Pharm you could get Mosby's flashcards to keep your memory of them fresh
I'm taking ECC's Patho and Pharm online this summer but I plan to get these once I'm done so I don't forget all the material before starting nursing school (I've got a while still, at least until January!) ... someone else on here recommended these to keep the info fresh :) they're already on my Amazon wish list! Hope this helps!

Yes I highly recommend these, I used these to study for patho while I was in it. They cover all the main points and give helpful ways to remember with their silly pictures. On the back of the cards it goes into detail. I didn't know they were this expensive, when my friend got into UTA's program she borrowed mine to help get her ready and said it helped. I'm so glad she gave them back recently or I wouldn't have remembered I had them lol.
Good luck sugarmagnolia018 your off to a good start!
*Edit* (because I dont want to double post)
So I just found out one of my friends from Microbiology(we studied together) got in Spring 2011 and I friended her on facebook and went through her school pictures!!! Those green scrubs look awesome! I like how they put the Brookhaven logo on it and it has our name all professional and special! I'm so EXCITED!!!

I prefer Urbane or Dickies scrubs. Go to a scrubs store and try on as many as possible. You'll figure out which ones you like or not. Some of the scrubs are like sandpaper they are so rough. I like the softer ones and usually wear a tshirt underneath. Get some with either pants pockets or two pockets on the top. I usually keep my personal stuff in one pocket (cell, to do list etc.) and keep the other pocket for work stuff (floor keys, pen, spectra phone, etc).
I try to buy mine during the tax free weekend in August. Most scrub stores run a sale along with no tax. Last year I was able to save quite a bit for two sets of scrubs.
