Brookhaven Nursing Program 2012 Class

Published

Hello everyone, I would like to know who's applying to Brookhaven this fall for their Spring 2012 class, if so how many with how many points? I will be taking my last support course this summer, which is my elective (PHIL 1304). I am so excited, upon completion of this course I will have 32.39 points. I can't tell how nervous I am, I hope this is enough. Any advice from previous or current nursing program is welcomed.

You both had interesting questions...I'm worried I will get one that I cannot answer :(

yeah i hope to get at least a 93 on the HESI in February when I retake it. I took it this past Sept and got an 85 :( I didn't study at all before I took it though..I knew I was going to retake it in Feb. so I wanted to take it to see what it was like.

Well, believe me, it's a heck of a lot easier to practice at home than it is in front of the interviewers! I thought I had a lot of answers down pat, but once I got in there, it just escaped me and I had to answer whatever came to my head!

The A & P's the hardest part!

I got a 98 on the A&P part...the math portion killed me :(

Good going on the A&P! I like the math portion and all of the English...that's easy for me; the A&P is where I'm the weakest.

I have never been good in math..even in elementary school. I excel more in English and Science/Biology.

English is my forte' and I love math because it's all about analyzing, so no problem there! I do love science though, but tests in the A&P portion of the Hesi just gets me nervous!

I was asked what I think a nurse is, and why I wanted to be a nurse. I was also asked to explain how I prioritize when I have too much to do.

Escape, I wish I would have had your questions! Hopefully tomorrow or the next day we'll have a definitive answer whether we got in or not!!! Did you finish with your candle making? Sounds like a good way to relieve stress! I like to mow the lawn when I get stressed out; maybe I'll do that tomorrow! Well Ladies, let me know if you hear anything tomorrow & Good luck!

I kept practicing the why I want to be a nurse but when it came time to answer the question I completely lost everything I wanted to say and started rambling :(

I made a huge mess with the candles, but the bonus is that my house smells great now.

LOL!!! Well, I'm glad your house smells great!! In the interview, I felt my answers were intelligible, but my first answer was lengthy, so I hope they do not label me as a rambler!! I don't know, we can analyze ourselves to death. At the end of the day, I have to keep reminding myself that I did the best that I could and now it's up to them for the final decision.
