I can't seem to locate a thread regarding applicants for Brookhaven's fall 2015 nursing program... so I wanted to start one! If there is another, please redirect me- thanks!
I plan to apply in February for acceptance to Brookhaven's fall 2015 class. I am working on my dosage calculations course by 2/20 (cutting it close!) and that is all I have left! It looks like they changed the point scoring system since just a few months ago- did anyone see that? I am always looking for guidance and support in this process, so, I am hoping this thread can provide that for me and everyone else involved!
I look forward to virtually meeting other BH fall '15 applicants!
Ha! I LOVE this! I think the same way!! I am a little hyper-analytic.. I am glad I am not the only one:roflmao: When you go, pretty please ask how many people have applied so far/will apply (estimate) and ask how many people they plan to accept this semester vs how many interviews they will award. And, pretty pretty please clarify the date they will let us know about our points/interviews! They told me March 30 but the website still says March 20th (ish). THANK YOU!!!
My transcripts were already at DCCCD since I've been taking my pre-reqs there..but if they weren't already there, I probably would take copies with me to be safe. I am an over-preparer!
Lastly, I just talke to Barb- she said not to worry about the new form that was just added for those of us that already turned in our app. She said that if we are called for interviews that we will just fill it out then!
Suddenly, I am feeling nervous after reading on this thread that there are usually 500 applicants.. eeeeek!
Ok the app is dropped off! First, they were very close lipped about how many applied and what will be competitive. So that was really unhelpful haha. But they did say to expect an email around March 20 regarding official points and that there will be 70 interviews, 60 acceptances. So gaaaah, here's to the waiting!!! Oh, and they didn't need the transcripts if they are on file and course subs are already submitted.
So March 20 and not 30th!! That's SO MUCH CLOSER and now I am officially anxious!! Gaaahhhhh is right! More like a really high pitched eeeeeeeekkkk for me :) So if we get an interview, we have like, an 86% chance of being accepted??? Did I do that math right? LOL I SURE HOPE SO! Thank you so much for asking and reporting back!
It's a 6/7 chance! And not everyone will accept their spot anyway since lots are applying other places I'm sure. It's all about getting the darn interview and writing sample!!
I heard it wasn't the hugest deal because they mostly use it to make sure you are fluent in English writing and to check that your grammar and spelling is where it should be.
Oh by the way I changed my username lol my husband was making fun of me for using my first and last name...oops! I made this thing 3 years ago and didn't use any common sense apparently!!!
Turned mine in yesterday. I mentioned 500 applicants. She said no maybe once upon a time, but no longer are there five hundred applicants. If the stack I seen is the only stack, I would guess 150 to 300 closer to 200 or more. It is hard to count those small envelopes with paper in them.
