Hi!
I can't seem to locate a thread regarding applicants for Brookhaven's fall 2015 nursing program... so I wanted to start one! If there is another, please redirect me- thanks!
I plan to apply in February for acceptance to Brookhaven's fall 2015 class. I am working on my dosage calculations course by 2/20 (cutting it close!) and that is all I have left! It looks like they changed the point scoring system since just a few months ago- did anyone see that? I am always looking for guidance and support in this process, so, I am hoping this thread can provide that for me and everyone else involved!
I look forward to virtually meeting other BH fall '15 applicants!

Get your HepB titer done and it will show your immunity to it and they will accept that instead of having to get your shot records. But yes, if you had it in junior high (some of us "older" people didn't have to do that in junior high or high school) then you do not have to get the shots a second time
I never had them as a child, which is why I am getting them now. I assume that you should be fine if you have the whole series, but it would not be a bad idea to take the sheet with the vaccines required (from the brookhaven nursing page) to your doctor with all of your vaccine records and have your doctor compare what you have to what is required. That way, you will know if you need any titers or other vaccines if you do get accepted to the nursing program. That's what I did.. my doctor found that (since I am so old ) they didn't give me the same amount of MMR vaccines as is required for children now, so I ended up having to get titers drawn for that along with varicella, etc. Now I have all of that squared away in anticipation of acceptance, again so I am not scrambling at the last minute. Sorry- that was a long winded way of me saying maybe just check with your doctor to be sure you are all set:D As far as meningitis, I don't think that is a yearly vaccine.. because I certainly haven't had it every year and it was accepted.
Hello everyone,i was wondering if anyone knew if we had to have end of life to apply to the program
No, you do not need end of life to apply to this program. Here is the link to what you need.. hope it helps! Nursing Program

Good call on the meningitis… Is that an annual immunization? Cause I got it at the end of 2011 and they do have record of it because I've attended courses at DCCCD...
