Brookhaven Nursing Fall 2015

Published

Hi!

I can't seem to locate a thread regarding applicants for Brookhaven's fall 2015 nursing program... so I wanted to start one! If there is another, please redirect me- thanks!

I plan to apply in February for acceptance to Brookhaven's fall 2015 class. I am working on my dosage calculations course by 2/20 (cutting it close!) and that is all I have left! It looks like they changed the point scoring system since just a few months ago- did anyone see that? I am always looking for guidance and support in this process, so, I am hoping this thread can provide that for me and everyone else involved!

I look forward to virtually meeting other BH fall '15 applicants!

I think so... Barbara told me that we should expect an email with points on 3/20. I'm so nervous about getting an interview... Which I would suppose we would find out in the next couple of weeks? It's so hard to get a feel of how many points is competitive... From what I gather in this forum is that everyone's points have dropped since last semester due to the new requirements and the highest someone has here is a 28 and the lowest is a 21? (And last semester people got in from a 32 down to a 24....). Blahhhh...

I think so too... but I also am more concerned about when we find out about the interviews!! If interviews are April 6-10, we must find out the week of 3/30.. that makes the most sense, right? I am so nervous thinking about it y'all.:nailbiting:

It's just exhausting thinking about waiting another semester or year... Besides, now I want to go to school with ya'll... :)

I knoowwww.. I AM SO READY! And I agree!! It would be so excellent to have our already formed little support group in school.. it would make it so much more exciting!

Hey! Are any of ya'll planning on articulating to UTA or TT's BSN program after BHs ADN? I am, and I just wanted to see if any of you had updated info on what additional classes we need to articulate (so I can take them in the maymester/summer if I need any).. I know there are articulation forms on the website but, they seem a little outdated. Does anyone have any insight as to how this works for either college?? Thanks in advance!

I hope to apply to TTU's RN to BSN program after getting my ADN. I am still working on a few classes that are needed for my BSN now though, and plan to take a couple more during maymester/summer as well. Which classes are you thinking you're still lacking?

Well, I don't really know.. do they require a speech class? I thought I read somewhere that they do. Also, do they require technical writing? As far as I know, all of my core work like govt., history, math, electives, psych, english and sciences is complete.. but I want to be sure I don;t get hung up on an extra little class that I missed!

Texas Woman's has a great 100% online RN-BSN program as well. For anyone who has a BA or BS already and then gets an ADN-RN, they have this RN-MSN program which is awesome. That's the route I'm planning to go at this time but I want to know all my options and see if just sticking with going for a BSN is the smartest/financially feasible choice.

I am also looking into TWUs RN-BSN program.. it is definitely a top choice but, honestly, anywhere that I can get my BSN done ASAP is my top choice:) I just want to be sure that I am doing everything right and have everything done and prepared for when the time comes to apply for those programs. I don't have time for anymore stalling:) Financials also play a BIG role.. I have yet to compare the cost of the programs but I would much prefer to go the most cost effective route. I am already swimming in loan debt:yuck:

Student debt is my life... haha. So yes, definitely agree! Also, it seems like more and more hospitals are requiring a minimum of a BSN. On another note, do ya'll know if we can apply for outside scholarships for BH?

Got the points email! 23.83. Have you all received it yet?

Ah!! No!! I haven't! I want it! What time did yours come??
