Brookhaven Nursing applicants - Spring 2018

Published

This is a forum for anyone applying to Brookhaven college ADN program for Spring 2018.What tips can you offer? Any challenges? How was the dosage calculation exam? Any tips for the critical thinking exam and the interview? How many points are you applying with?

Hey guys filing period for the applications will be September 18th- 29th @ 3pm

Do you really need patho? I have registered for patho, pharm, and ethics to take this fall...so the points will not count...

In terms of needing it for the ADN program, no, you don't need patho. You may need it as a prerequisite for BSN depending what college you're wanting to pursue afterwards. Ethics and pharm are required and you will do yourself a HUGE favor by taking them before you start the nursing program.

FYI- I have the pharm book for sale (35.00) if interested :)

Regarding Patho, I agree with LunaBell –BHC doesn't require it for their AND program but ADN to BSN programs might; UTA doesn't but that's the only bridge program I'm familiar with.

Congratulations on the 35.61 points AMC, that's awesome! I'm retaking my HESI and I'm just curious, what'd you score on the HESI and the CT? ( I got an 87.7 on the HESI and 8.7 CT points).

Annette, how many points will you be applying with?

LunaBell, do you know what ranges of points were accepted in the Fall '17 application pool?

I don't know. I'm from the Sp17 class. I was accepted with 36.5; We had 40 in the spring but about 8 were repeats from the previous semester so not all were new applicants. I know there were some below me, just don't know how low. I think 35 pts is good.

@shuffman17 . So far I have 10 points (prereq & support classes) without pharm, ethics, Hesi, & CT. I am planning to take CT on Friday, then dosage calc, then hesi. This fall I will take pharm, patho, ethics....unfortunately, pharm & ethics points will not count & That may put me at a risk of not getting accepted?!

I've been trying to take that dosage calculations class but the only one I see is the one that already started in July. Are there other start dates this semester?

you can still enroll if there are still testing dates left in the schedule- your peers that took it could tell you. They schedule 3 test dates in that enrollment period. Of course if you take the last one you only have one chance to pass , where as those that registered early had all three chances to pass.
