Brookhaven Nursing applicants - Spring 2018

Published

This is a forum for anyone applying to Brookhaven college ADN program for Spring 2018.What tips can you offer? Any challenges? How was the dosage calculation exam? Any tips for the critical thinking exam and the interview? How many points are you applying with?

Hey guys, I'll be applying for the spring program as well. Does anyone know when the school starts accepting the applications? I finished my CT and dosage test this weekend, now just waiting for my titers to come back :)

Well I just finished my CT exam with a 78 out of 100. It really was stupidly confusing. I really wish we were allowed to take it multiple times, especially since there's no real way to prepare for it.

Hey Guys!

I am so glad that this is available so we are able to ask each other questions. I will be applying to the program with 35.61 points, I just finished the DC class this past weekend when I passed with a 94. How are you guys printing the grade page to show proof of grades? On the critical thinking exam I printed out the assessment details, because it had the item name (critical thinking exam A), and on my DC I printed out the grade page so that it had the title dosage calculations for nursing on top. I don't know how they want the grade page printed out to show proof of grade.

@Mcornelius The nursing info powerpoint says "Spring deadline- Last business day of

September." but I'm not sure when it opens.

In the info session pdf, it says the deadline for spring semester is the last business day of September. Where did you go to do your titers? T hat is the last thing I need to do.

@ParkerLouis thanks!

@amcs32- I had mine done at my PCP's office

Thats what I was thinking, I just got my health insurance card through work, and just booked an appoinment.

Those two printouts should be sufficient. That's the way it was when I printed mine out and they accepted them. So long as your name, course name and grade are showing, that is enough. Just make sure to drop them off with plenty of time in case you are missing something you have time to get what you need, if you have any concerns :)

Hello-

I'm a current student at Brookhaven. I'll be starting my 3rd semester later this month. As y'all have seen, this thread is a great way to share information :). I see y'all have also met Kendra! She is truly a Gem! She has been helping me since I was right were y'all are at right now. I am happy to answer any questions y'all may have as much as I can. Best of luck to all of you!

Absolutely get all your shots/titers you need as I hear you can no longer apply without the full sets. Brookhaven health center (S building) will do the TBs for free.

@LunaBell1 Thank you!

Don't kick yourself too hard, I think everyone scores around that grade. It is a very confusing test and your right, you can't study for it.
