Hey everyone,
I just wanted to get a thread started for all of the BHC/MVC students; please help me get a support system going here. I am starting at BHC in Jan. 07 and would love to make contact with the other new students. It would also be great if the current students would join in too, maybe share some advise;) /horror stories.:uhoh21: I'm sure that you current students have a lot to say.
El Centro/Northlake has a couple of really good threads going, but it would sure be great to talk with those I will be going to school with too.
Good Luck to everyone!
joshuaha,
I am in class after you, starting 2nd semester. We have to get some "Critical Thinking in Med/Surge Nursing" book by Pressuer, this was in an e-mail from Mrs Ames, the bookstore doesnt have or know anything about it (of course) She suggested we could buy it from a 4th semester student, How would I go about getting word out that some of our class would be interested in buying books from you guys? I went to talk to Ann today but she wasnt in her office, sooo any ideas??? And best of luck to you in your 4th and final semester!!!!!
Yes, you will need the preusser. One thing that we did to save ourselves from all having to buy the book is we bought several copies and made copies for the whole class. you won't be using anywhere near all of them (I think we did ten but Ames may have something different in mind). The best thing I can think of is asking ann to have Mrs. Mclelland start a list or something. I would sell you mine, but I can't remember if I have a copy or not. I have bought an awful lot of nursing text's over the past year! I will get back to you and let you know. Good luck in Med-Surg, it is fun!

Thanks for the info Joshuaha. I asked ann to send an e-mail to 4th semester students about any books that anyone is interested in selling to 2 semester students, I'm sure there is a large interest on our part. I think we are trying to get a group together to split the prausser book like you suggested.
Can anybody tell me what the lowest total points were to get in when you were accepted to the Brookhaven nursing program? I am really having a tough time obtaining this information. I just want to know how many points would be relatively "safe".
(By points I mean GPA+support courses+HESI score)
The admission process has changed so the number of points for our class may not really help you but I believe it was 14 points. The top 60 students were selected for interviews then the faculty selected 40 students based on those interviews.
I believe this time there will be no interviews just the top 40 students will be selected based on their points.
Good luck.
joshuaha
