I am hoping to be part of the Brookhaven College Spring 2017 Nursing Class and I want to start a new thread where other potential students can communicate with one another. I am almost done with my pre-requisites. Currently I am working on getting Chemistry and Ethics out of the way. I plan on taking nursing pathophysiology this summer if it is offered.
Any one have any suggestions on how to prepare for the HESI A2? I am also interested in any advice that can help me with my dosage class. I am very nervous about the dosage course since the test must be passed with a 90%. Good luck everyone!
Wise words. Thanks so much! I've always saw it as a similar test to that of the TAKS test like back in grade school. Not much specific preparation you can do in my opinion other than reviewing what you've learned all your life. I have the HESI prep and even entertain online practice tests, so I hope I do well!
Another one checking in for the Spring application cycle!Does anyone know if we are able to do the critical thinking exam online, or does it have to be done at a testing center? It seems like it can be done online but I haven't tried it yet...
from what I understand, it can only be done in the testing center. And in order to do so, you must take the permission slip when you do.
So after month of prep I took the HESI Saturday. Very nerve wracking and extremely cold in that test room! I received a 90.40 % total comprehensive score. Extremely relieved, especially after taking a&p first and finished with an 80% my lowest score of all sections. It was def harder than I thought. Every other section was extremely easy. If any questions I will try to answer as best I can. Now it is time to prepare and turn in my application.

Congrats! That's awesome! A&P has always been my lowest scoring section and that is what I'm so nervous about! I test today at 2:00! Was the anatomy section hard?

I wouldn't say hard but more that I did not study what was asked on my test. I had questions on ossification for example which I never looked into. Lots of things I've read was that it was not too detailed. Some questions however were detailed. Almost like there was 5 -10 intentionally harder questions AP2 based where as the rest of the questions where pretty simple. Just so you know I got plenty of questions on bones, couple on brain, meiosis, sweat glands, and blood related. Good luck.
I thought the transcripts were for classes outside of dcccd. If not, then I need to get on top of that! Gosh I really hope I get in this semester
Well I have my associates from MCC in Waco, tx. I called the nursing department and they told me it shouldn't be any issue with those courses. I was just asking to make sure to cover everything.

Oh, my! Ha. Well, let's just hope it all goes in my favor then. I take HESI Monday and then will take Critical Thinking the week after. Sooo many emotions and nervousness during this whole process. Best of luck to you and hope to be in class alongside you as well as the others on the thread! :)
