Brookhaven College Spring 2017

Published

I am hoping to be part of the Brookhaven College Spring 2017 Nursing Class and I want to start a new thread where other potential students can communicate with one another. I am almost done with my pre-requisites. Currently I am working on getting Chemistry and Ethics out of the way. I plan on taking nursing pathophysiology this summer if it is offered.

Any one have any suggestions on how to prepare for the HESI A2? I am also interested in any advice that can help me with my dosage class. I am very nervous about the dosage course since the test must be passed with a 90%. Good luck everyone!

For HepB series you need all three as well as a positive titer. And it looks like for the application you just need to submit the hep B series and the titter will be needed if you get accepted. The nurse at the campus can go over your immunization records to ensure you have all the requirements. She is super helpful!

Yes she told me to go get a titer and if negative to call her for the next step. So I am going to lumincare tomorrow as well. They told me it was 36$.

Hi everyone,

Add me to the list of future RN's applying to the BH 2017 class. I just went today, and took the CT exam. So many typos, and miss wordings :/ I did received 11.4 points (if I figured correctly :)). I am taking the HESI on Monday. I am a little nervous about it, but I am keeping the faith. I am locking my self in the house this weekend, where I am going to continue to study. I want to earn a high score, so that I can be competitive with the AWESOME scores being posted here.

Extra Good Luck to everyone studying, testing, and completing their applications.

Confused on the calculation of points and wondering if you all could help me understand.

And also does anyone know if you count the points for BIOL2402 if it's been 5 years or no?

How are points calculated?

Using the Ranking for Admission form found on the BHC Nursing website.

  • HESI A2 score (minus 75 points)
  • GPA of the 4 prerequisite classes
  • Support course points
  • Critical thinking exam points
  • HESI A2 + GPA + support course points + critical thinking exam points + Total points

The ranking sheet helps break the points down too.

Hope this helps if not I can help clarify :)

Hey everyone!

I'm taking the Hesi this afternoon and I wanted to see about how long it took everyone to take it? Also, any other information about the Hesi would be appreciated! Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I am generally a fast test taker I finished in 1-1:30 hours. I would say if you've been using the pocket prep app do a few vocabulary quizzes because a ton of the words are exactly the same. AP seems to be random on what you'll get so what you know you already know. Everything else was pretty easy/ straight forward.

Awesome, you alleviated some of my nerves haha. Thanks so much!

So I took my HESI exam this afternoon. I am so done. I will go tomorrow to make sure my out of state classes coincide with what is needed. Then...the wait :)
