Bridging program in vICTORIA? anyone? did, doing? plans?

Published

hi there..

is anyone of you currently on bridging program in victoria, australia? or done the prgram..how was it? im planning to enroll as well but still figuring things out..hoping for a kind soul to share infos..on victoria..

im actually thinking of deakin.. or any other schools near glen iris. anyone one familiar? plssss

thanks so much.....

hi, wahine888...actually, if i get my nbv letter, my first choice is latrobe, then etea, then ballarat.

since i also applied with nmbwa, i was thinking that if i go to wa for the bridging, vchn would be my choice since they have a shorter bridging course duration (they are also accredited with nmbwa, i think part of the course will be held at their melbourne campus). really? they require 1 year med-surg experience? i thought they are just requiring 1 year nursing experience, with at least 3 months of it in med surg. uh oh...:):D

@drednag: oh yeah, something like that! but anyhow, i don't have neither. i only have 6 months experience as a company nurse but i will still apply at vchn. they don't have application fee, right?

When did you apply with NBV? Have you already been approved? Kindly share your experience for the benefit of others who have applied recently and will be applying soon.

Thanks.

Hi Haoyin,

I applied for NBV in dec 2008. I got approval in July 09 dats due to delay in my documents. They asked me for my birth certificate and second my verification from India was delayed. In July I received my letter of approval, my english and oet requirement and list of colleges where I can apply for course. Minimum it takes about 2 months to receive ur letter bcos one of my friend she received her letter by 3 months. In Nov 09 I took my oet and in jan 10. I applied at ballarat and starting course in april.

6. appropriate reference checks

candidates must also meet the victorian college of health & nursing selection

Why did they ask for your birth certificate? Didn't you submit it with the application form? Or they asked for the original?

Hi wahine888

I submitted my translated certificate, done by JP, to them but they asked to submit the original in english. so I was to get it from India and dey asked me to get name added on that which was not possible according to Indian constitution. to solve this problem I was to be issued one for certificate which was that name can't be added due age over 15 year. I submitted remaining docs in june and got my approval in july.

Thanks for sharing your experience with your application. Back 2008 and mid 2009 it's still faster for NBV to assess applicants as QNC is still accepting CAS applicants, but after QNC stopped accepting, many started applying with NBV hence the cause of delay in assessment due to influx of applications. That's according to my case manager. Still I would say if in any rare case there's no problem with anything then on the average it will take 3 months.

Good luck with your studies in Ballarat.

Cheers!

Hello love nature,

So your original birth certificate was not in English. I've read in previous posts that Indian applicants get approvals faster than Filipinos. All in all, how long did you wait to get your eligibility? :)
