Welcome to the club, Marie0516! Latrobe, Ballarat, ETEA, VCHN, Mercy Health and Mt. Alexander are still open for this year. I want to go to the universities like Latrobe and Ballarat but it depends when NBV will give the result of application since the intakes in the Unis will be on June and August already and we don't know until when they're accepting applicants. Where do you plan to do the IRON? :)

Thank You wahine888 for your reply. I still don't know where to do the IRON. I am really planning to do it this year so whatever university will still be open for me, I'll go there:) I hope we all have a positive assessment. I'll ask my aunt who is in Sydney to call these universities and check their schedules. Thanks again wahine888:)

hi yoj,
if u sent your letter thats good but u can do it yourself without any sponsor or employer. first thing u need to do is getting approval letter from nursing board to do that brigding program after that u can get in touch with health careers or ncda group for your visa arrangement and addmission in course or u can directly apply to the unis and colleges offering that course. here r some links....www.ncdagroup.com,http://hcigroup.com.au/about.html,www.aaon.com.au.,http://www.nbv.org.au
good luck
@Marie0516 - No worries! I called all those institutions already. I posted the date of intakes, length of course and tuition fees of each school in the thread "Newly grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Aus/NZ". You can just browse through it.
@yoh1001 - I applied at NBV all by myself and will do the same in applying for school and visa. Though in one application in a university in Perth, WA, I asked assistance from IDP Manila. Good luck!
@love nature- You're going to Ballarat right? Which campus, Melbourne or Sydney? Are you on a student visa 575 or 456 Business Short stay? :)

hi wahine
I m here with permanent residence. I m living in sydney so I ll go for 1 month theory in melbourne and 2 months clinical in sydney
hello love nature! thanks for the link..its helpful. i should have found this thread earlier, that i applied by myself. another question do you have any idea what is the bridging program all about? i believe its 1 month theoretical and 2 months practicum? do you have to study all the nursing concepts again in theoretical? and how about the 2 months practicum, does it require to fulfill hours of duty?after finishing the bridging program, how one would qualify to become a registered nurse? does it have like a major exam like NCLEX? please enlighten me...thank you!

Hi yoj,
Brigding program is all about ethics and code of conduct in australian nursing practice what my friend had told me who is doing her course in ballarat. she told me there are assignments which we have to do in groups and individually in theory period of one month and we get evaluated based on those assignments during theory classes they teach us the procedures also like cpr, manual handling, documentation and all. after the completion of 4 weeks theory there is clinical postings where guidelines r provided by the course provider what we have to do in wards with some assignments.
dats regarding ballarat and same with victorian college of nursing. AND THERE IS NO EXAM LIKE NCLEX:yeah:
after comletion of your course u have to apply to the nursing board from whom u got the approval and notification by ur name is forwarded directly to the board by the course providers and registration will be granted forthwith. thats regarding nursing borad of victoria.
One more thing if you apply with western australia dere is only victorian college where places are available and with nbv you will get a list of uni and colleges where u have to try for bridging prg. there is ballarat, la trobe, deakin, ETEA and many other.
all other college accept oet except la trobe they only accept ielts academic with 7 each.
hi love nature.. what universities and colleges in NBV which doesn't requires 7 in all areas in IELTS? I'm planning to apply at NBV and hopefully will choose Deakin , ETEA or Ballarat. Thanks in advance...
hi narscathy,
from july 2009 all the nursing boards have changed their requirements, all need 7 in all the modules in ielts or oet with B grade in all modules in single sitting. So its not the universities who needs bands as the nursing board has changed their english requirementsso colleges and unis also accept the same 7 bands or B grade. so u have to score 7 or B.

Hello guys! Since all of us are all in the waiting mode, I'm just wondering what your plans are while waiting. Right now I'm gathering the requirements for visa application already so that when everything's all set with NBV and the Uni/school, I can start lodging for visa ASAP because I really want to take the IRON this year.
Does anybody know how you can show that you "have an access to the funds" of your sponsor? It's one of the financial requirements and I do have sponsors but I just don't know what the embassy is actually looking for. Affidavit of Support, got it. But is the evidence like a joint bank account between you and the sponsor?
