Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

I agree, but the thing about it, is that, with your 10 years of experience in the US is more than enough for you to be exempted. I read about some of Filipino nurses who does have less than 2 years and another 1 with almost 3 years working and they were all exempted to take the BP. Probably it is a case to case basis.

My batchmate with 5 yrs of experience didnt go through the BP but that was few years ago. Even Physicians that i know had difficulty, so its not only nursing. I am at their mercy, Ill do it if I have to plus it will be good in my resume to have both US and Australia RN license.

and of course, don't forget the AGOS-40 form :)

Application for general registration as an enrolled nurse, registered nurse or midwife (for internationally qualified nurses and midwives) - AGOS-40

it's better if you try to fill in this form first so you will understand the requirements that they need.

and i think you already know that you need to pass IELTS/OET first before anything else.

. Thank you soooo sooo much. Its a huge help for me. R u done with all of this??? When r u gunna take the bp?? What institution??

Hi summer1087,

Did you apply already? I am waiting for the response of Deakin Uni.

May I know the difference of IRON and EPIQ program? Thanks!

Specializes in General Ward.

I would like to inquire if PTE is accepted for admission in La Trobe and Deakin University? I saw on their websites they only mentioned OET and IELTS :nailbiting:
